Nothing like striking when while the iron is hot - go Lee

(Take it we've all given up on next weekend and the DC then )

I worry about DC. I fear that the clay is going to ground to dust any momentum Nole could have taken into IW from Dubai. Hope I'm wrong.

Ajde Nole! Defend this Title!

I know, it's quite unfortunate, but I love how much he enjoys playing for Serbia. Brings a tear to my eye.

But thanks for the thread Lee! Hope your magic works in IW too!

Re: Indian Summer in Indian Wells! Beat the Heat NOLE! Cheering Thread

Lee started another thread So that means victory at IW is assured then?

As for DC - hope I don't upset people by saying this, but I've never liked it, and I wish he wasn't playing next week Yes, I'll cheer for him and for Serbia too of course, but I don't think they really have any chance at all against Spain away on clay (sorry Natasha and other Serbs here ), and I'm kind of scared that a bad loss will ruin his new found confidence before he has to defend IW. I really just wish he'd get to The States quickly and start to prepare for that.

Re: Indian Summer in Indian Wells! Beat the Heat NOLE! Cheering Thread

To defend his IW title, Nole has to beat:
1) the heat
2) jet lag (Europe to America)
3) change of surface
4) tiredness (if he plays well against Rafa in DC)
5) the pressure of being defending champ
6) his previous unpleasant memories playing in the US
7) the pressure from the rising Murray
8) probably 2 of the other members of Fantastic Four
9) the little demon in himself

The greater the opponent, the greater the win.

That's all I ask of you.

The heat is not likely to be a problem. The average high temperature is around mid to high 20s°C with record high at low 30s° plus the humidity is low. It's the nicest time of the year, weatherwise, in the desert here.

Indian Wells is a 2 weeks event and top players have BYE to first round so won't play until Saturday, lots of time adjusting to jet lag and recover from tireness.

Rafa, Nole and Murray all subject to change of surface and for Federer, what surface as he hasn't played since AO

The crowd in Indian Wells is quite different from USO and he's pretty well liked there.

Of the top 4, Nole seems to be healthiest one () for the time being so....

The worst is the little demon in himself, as Rose said.

Re: Indian Summer in Indian Wells! Beat the Heat NOLE! Cheering Thread

Yay, Lee thanks for reminding me that IW is a 2-week event ....I'm a pretty new tennis fan compared to all of you here so I don't know about that....
Ah....that makes my tennis world a lot more optimistic!

A lovely positive post - thank you . So if we all combine against the little demon his problems will be over.
