As for DC - hope I don't upset people by saying this, but I've never liked it, and I wish he wasn't playing next week Yes, I'll cheer for him and for Serbia too of course, but I don't think they really have any chance at all against Spain away on clay (sorry Natasha and other Serbs here ), and I'm kind of scared that a bad loss will ruin his new found confidence before he has to defend IW. I really just wish he'd get to The States quickly and start to prepare for that.
Not upseting at all. I, on the other hand, think that a chance to play Nadal on his beloved clay, where he is an overwhelming favourite, is actually a nothing-to-lose situation that will charge Nole + the fact he's playing for his country. Everyone here is more than aware of our *slim* chances, so whatever they manage to come up with will be just fine.

The more Novak is confronted with Rafa, the better he'll learn how to beat him on clay. Besides, our team is very united, they all get along great, and I think Novak cherishes those moments. It'll do him good either way.

But if Serbia was to somehow magically win the tie.. That would propel Novak like a scorching, sharp rocket and he would arrive in IW with a huge grin on his face.

I'm sure we can all get together and whip the little demon into submission Who knows - someone might enjoy it

Totally agree with the bolded part. They do all seem like good friends and enjoy their time together. Guess I admit, part of it from me, is a very personal thing. I'm normally pretty ambivelent when Nole loses - I don't get or upset, - I just think there will be another tournament next week....... but when it comes to Nadal, because of my own personal dislike , I do take his defeats very hard and get upset and I'm really not looking forward to another one.

Indian Wells is a 2 weeks event and top players have BYE to first round so won't play until Saturday, lots of time adjusting to jet lag and recover from tireness.

Rafa, Nole and Murray all subject to change of surface and for Federer, what surface as he hasn't played since AO

The crowd in Indian Wells is quite different from USO and he's pretty well liked there.

Of the top 4, Nole seems to be healthiest one () for the time being so....

The worst is the little demon in himself, as Rose said.
Agree with all of this. Two years ago it was 100 to 104, but that's unusual. I think it will be in the 80's this year -- maybe jumping into the 90's.

I think Djokovic is liked at IW. The crowd loved him two years ago, and last year too. I don't know if they will be a little soured on him after the USO, but California is a lot different than New York. I think Djokovic isn't too fond of Indian Wells because it's more of a retirement community and there's no night life to speak of unless he goes to Palm Springs. But, maybe he'll appreciate the calm a little bit more this year.

star, from the forecast, it will be a bit rainy when you're on your way.

And I think he's not so fond of IW because the food portion is so small

I wouldn't be fond of that either, lol.

Good luck Nole!

Lee gets the credit for Dubai 2009 but IW was Jelena78. Last year's role of honour was:

TMC - Kalisita
Rome - Jitterbug
IW - Jelena78
AO - Jess

Wooden spoon to the rest of us

Solution - we need more titles!

1pm. But I'm slightly confused because of the timezone. I think it is GMT-7 now, because of daylight saving time. So that makes it 8pm GMT. Confirmation wanted

Hi Ellen Nice to see you back here

I always thought IW was 8 hours behind the UK, - but I know the US has just had some kind of time change, so I think you may be right. However, I'm now confused totally, because on Nole's site they do a "what's the time at the current tournament" type feature, and it says there that it's currently 11.00am there (which would be only 5 hours behind us ) so I haven't a clue I think they may have got that wrong though

Don't believe it on Nole's site. Ellen and you are right.
You can see the exact local time on the official tournament's site.
(Yesterday they showed wrong local time even on the tournament's site. )

Thanks. So the draw comes out at 8.00pm here and 9.00pm in Central Europe I have a "World Clock" site as one of my favourites on my PC, but although it gives the major US cities on it like New York, Los Angeles etc, it didn't give IW, and here I have to admit that my US geography is dreadful and I don't really know where IW is (apart from somewhere in the desert ) so I couldn't work it out
