Civic reception for Nole in Belgrade?

This was in yesterday's English version of Blic...

Glorious reception in Belgrade – Alimpic
- “The champion of Australian Open Novak Djokovic is to be given a glorious reception on his return to Belgrade. He’s definitely earned it,” says Zoran Alimpic, acting Belgrade mayor.
The city authorities is charge of sport and protocol will be contacting Djokovic and confirming the exact date and time of Novak’s return.
- “The problem is we still don’t know for sure when they are scheduled to return. Tennis players usually travel from one tournament location to another. Nonetheless we’re all set for a major reception in front of the City Hall. It’s possible we move site to the plateau outside the former Federal Assembly for more room,” says Alimpic.

Fabulous news - are there any details yet as to when this will be please? And is it likely to be broadcast live on RTS so we can all see it on the web? News asap please...

It is more likely that this is not going to happen...
I hope I'm wrong, cause we're all here so looking forward to greeting him...
But they've been telling us in news for two days now that they're not sure...they don't know...blah,blah,...
They don't know the exact day he's coming back...and then there's Davis Cup tie in Moscow...etc.
We're so in the mood for celebration

Thanks but what a shame. He so deserves it and it would be brilliant for you all to be able to cheer him home. Please do post here if there's any further news...

Re: Civic reception for Nole in Belgrade?

Strange...I read that he will prolongate his arrival to Belgrade, because of presidential elections scheduled for 3rd february, because he don't want to be used by any side in their campaign, and I thought that is a good decision. This is official? From his camp?

ok...yes I saw it in "Blic"

BTW anyone noticed that there were no sign of Ronin Bega or Vega...his fitness coach? I saw that bald younger guy for the first time? Anyone have some information about that?

Re: Civic reception for Nole in Belgrade?

Thanks - great news. This is an occasion which should be properly celebrated! Those of you lucky enough to be near Belgrade make sure you give him a terrific welcome from us all here - this should be one of the proudest days of his life. Am now in Salzburg for the weekend - do you know if it will be on RTS? Can´t see it on the schedules but don´t understand any Serbian!

Hope someone can upload something to the official site or to Youtube.

Yes, it is a shame but it's better not. Elections in Sunday in Serbia! Who knows what it would be understands why is way better for Novak NOT to show.
