I don't see that much trouble lurking. Novak should beat Mario in 3, Stepanek in 3 or 4 sets. 3rd round won't be any trouble (del Potro is the best of the 4). I think Hewitt will be demoralized by his loss in Cincinnati--might even lose to Amer.

Fish and Youzhny would be the most likely QF opponents.

Janko can take out Nadal in round 2! He can do it.

How nice of you to say.

Hopefully Serbia will be able to take 3 points in Belgium, tonight. Portugal could only manage a draw in Armenia.

Re: US OPEN 2007 thread--Main draw over-reaction day

So, Tommy Robredo ESP (8), Mikhail Youzhny RUS (11), Lleyton Hewitt AUS (16), Carlos Moya ESP (17) and even Potito Starace ITA (30) have easier first two rounds than Novak Djokovic SRB (3). Than in 4th round out of possible Gasquet, Canas , Ferrer, he gets most dangerous one right now - Hewitt. Frikin great

federer gets so many qualifiers, surely he could have spared 1 for nole!?! but I will be all the more happy if nole goes far.

Re: US OPEN 2007 thread--Main draw over-reaction day

Ancic and Stepanek, first two rounds!
And Murray gets a qualifier

Anyway I'm sure he can beat them both, but still tough first two matches.

Novak Djokovic - Brydan Klein -Marcus Willis - Guido Pella
Dimitrov - McGee - Tomic - Pauffley - King - Chardy - Butorac

Janko Tipsarevic

Louk Sorensen

Markotard No.3

I don't think Nole will have problem with these players too but it's no cake walk, thus, he needs to spend more energy.

Re: US OPEN 2007 thread--Main draw over-reaction day

Ancic should be OK. Saw his match against PHM in Montréal and he's a shadow of his former self. Stepanek will be tricky. Potential 3rd round opponents look beatable. Drawing Hewitt is just terrible luck though.
