Good luck in the rest of the clay season Martin

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin defeated C.Rochus at Kitzbuhel R1 today, 6-2 6-4.

Good that he will have some matches under his belt before Roland Garros. He loves the tournament and hopefully he can win a couple of matches there.

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin hasn't had the best of starts to the season, having some injury issues and failing to get decent results on the ATP tour to start the season. His ranking has slipped down to 185 and he is back to playing challengers. Hopefully he has a return to fortune and is feeling healthier and ready to rock and roll. He has almost nothing to defend these next months, and the ranking will take care of itself as Martin hopefully returns to winning ways.

KAMKE, Tobias GER vs. CRUGNOLA, Marco ITA
VASSALLO ARGUELLO, Martin ARG vs. LAMMER, Michael SUI
BERLOCQ, Carlos ARG vs. QUALIFIER
ARANGUREN, Juan-Martin ARG vs. GUEZ, David FRA

This is his section of the draw, a good opportunity for a semifinal. Let's wish for the best.

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin won his first two matches in San Remo very easily, 6-2 6-3 over Lammer, and 6-2 6-1 over Crugnola. He plays Aranguren tomorrow in the QF. Good luck to MVA!

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin defeated Aranguren in a tough match today 6-3 5-7 6-4 and plays Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the SFs. The winner of his match would play either Gaudio or Gabashvili in the final. Good luck to MVA, keep on the winning track!

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin defeated Ramos-Vinolas today 4-6 6-3 7-6 (1) and is into the final of San Remo, playing his friend and countrymate Gaudio in the final! This has been a great week after some time off recovering from some injury issues. A win would put him right around 150 in the rankings with very little to defend outside of two R2s at the French and Wimbledon.

Good luck in the final, Martin, love both finalists, may the best man win!

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin lost the singles final to Gaston 7-5 6-0 in San Remo. It's was a great week regardless for Martin in his return after a few weeks off and his injuries of previous are hopefully a thing of the past.

Martin did go away with a trophy, as he won the doubles final 10-8 in the match tiebreaker with his countrymate Diego Junqueira, defeating Berlocq/Decoud in an all Argentinian final.

By making the finals, Martin's ranking should move up 20 or so positions to around 165. Congrats on the great week Martin, keep this form going in the future!

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

Martin is staying in Italy, this time he's in Biella. Here's the draw:

http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/6125/mds.pdf

Martin is scheduled to play Tobias Kamke in R1. That should be a win for him, and will play either Phau/Q in R2. If Martin can beat his likely opponent Phau in R2 he has a great chance at another final.

Keep tearing these Italian challengers up, Martin!

Re: Martin Vassallo Arguello Cheering Thread

RG qualies for Martin.

BOLELLI, Simone ITA [15] v MATOSEVIC, Marinko AUS
TAVARES, Leonardo POR v MINAR, Jan CZE (A)
EYSSERIC, Jonathan FRA (W) v BAUTISTA-AGUT, Roberto ESP
VASSALLO ARGUELLO, Martin ARG v ILHAN, Marsel TUR [18]

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
