Orlando Light conquest 44th Banana Bowl and ends taboo 33 years
São José do Rio Preto (SP), March 23, 2014 - The 44th Banana Bowl - World Tennis Cup ended on Sunday with the conquest of the Brazilian Orlando Luz Category 18 male years to break a taboo of 33 years at the end before the Also Brazilian João Menezes, at Mount Lebanon Club.
With the busy central square, Orlando Luz made a close match against John Menezes and got the only service break in the eighth to win the first set. In the second part, Luz managed to open 5/3 with Menezes pulling down on 0-40, but he saw the opponent saved four match points in the game to then return the broken edge. Already feeling the wear of two weeks, Orlando Light remained steady in recent games to close at 6/3 7/5.
"I was very depressed, very badly spent last night and this morning was not 100%. I started the game as normal, but still not as good and the heat was getting worse. I could not do the long points like I did all week, pressing "said Luz
"Although not one of the most beautiful games of the week and not as perfect as I came doing worth a lot to win by Talon I think I have shown on the court," added the champion, who completed his second week without losing sets from the title Paraguay won last weekend.

In the women's final Spanish Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov was crowned champion of the category 18 years. She overcame the decision to Mexican Renata Zarazua 2 sets to 1, with partial 6/3 5/7 6/2.
"I started well, with 3/0 above, and follow with confidence equal to the 5/3 of the second set, there was blocked in three games and won only one point. But got back in the third set and win the match. It was important because I get into the top 40 and get direct berth in the Grand Slams and I am happy to win my first tournament here because it is a very good tournament, "said Bolsova, who was born in Moldova and is the daughter of former Olympians Vadim Zadoinov Bolsova and Olga, both in athletics.
In the key 16-year male champion was the Paraguayan Britez Bruno, who won a decision Argentine Camilo Ugo 6/1 and 7/5. The women's final was won by Liz Chilean Paraguay, who beat Colombian Yuliana Monroy with 6/4 4/6 6/3.
Thiago Wild won the title 14 years old male in the final against Brazil's Joao Lucas Reis win with partial 6/2 6/4. The women's title went to Colombia's Maria Osorio, who won the Peruvian Anastasia Iamachkine with 6/4 6/3.
