Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

Can anybody tell me why Lucho isn't playing doubles at Indian Wells?
He had plans to continue playing with "El Gordo" Calleri, but he pulled out due to an injury

Two of his former doubles partners ( Monaco and Starace) are playing together and have already won a watch.
He has recently won titles with both of them so, he must have the points to be able
to play this tournament

What happened?

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

I think Lucho is missing golden opportunities to keep improving his doubles rankings.
What a pity!
I can't wait to see him winning more titles

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

Well, I am going to answer myself.
At the Peruvian Tennis forum they gave me this answer:

Lucho didn't play because he didn't make the cut, which was 61

It is calculated adding the lowest ranking (singles or doubles) of each player of the doubles team.
That is why Monaco and Starace DID make the cut : 21 + 34 = 55, lower than 61

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

Lucho is in Miami and will be playing qualies there.

He needs to get his singles ranking back to where it should be, not in the 90s and remain injury free.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

Yes indeed.
In fact I was looking at the Miami entry list yesterday and was surprised not to see him there but then I realized he had to play qualies

Let's hope he gets to the MD and has a good draw

(10) Luis HORNA (PER) vs Stephane BOHLI (SUI)
Alex BOGDANOVIC (GBR) vs (18) Viktor TROICKI (SRB)

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

He has had elbow problems and not sure why he withdrew.

Better off saving it for the clay season.

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

That's too bad, but if he was still in a lot of discomfort he made the right decision to pull out, and good luck to him with his recovery.

Re: Luis Horna's Power Room!!!!

Lucho is in the Napoli challenger and has been drawn against Ivan Navarro.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
