Re: The Official X-man cheering thread

I agree
Of course he should have informed about his whereabouts, but still this doesn't deserve such a punishment.
They could have given him a warning or a fine.

Watching him at the press conference was heartbreaking

And ITF agrees with the punishment the Flemish council has given. I don't want him to quit because of this

"Sometimes you are embarrassed by how you are playing. Sometimes you want to be there, sometimes you want to go home. Sometimes you are fighting hard and sometimes you are fighting yourself." - Ernests Gulbis

To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle - Buddha

Re: The Official X-man cheering thread

I've written a report of Malisse's match against Klein (Qualifying match in Brisbane):
http://www.tennis-brain.com/2010/01/...onal-blog.html

Perhaps worth reading for a description of Malisse's game, even if by the time you read it, the match is a little old.

Re: The Official X-man cheering thread

Xavier qualified into the AO, beating Alex Kuznetsov, Martin Fischer, and Rik De Voest along the way. Good draw, and he made the most of it.

Hopefully he can do some damage in the main draw.

Re: The Official X-man cheering thread

X-Man is ranked #84 on the rankings this week. Yesterday he lost in Estoril to Garcia-Lopez 2-6 6-7 in the first round, and he has a 4-9 record in ATP events this season. His best result is a QF in Houston, beating Isner 7-6 in the third set in the second round.

Next scheduled tournament for Xavier is the Bordeaux challenger next week. Good luck next week and beyond X-Man!

Re: The Official X-man cheering thread

Here is the main draw at Bordeaux tournament starting Monday:

http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/3824/mds.pdf

Xavier is the #6 seed and is playing Ouanna in R1, a difficult match as he is a dangerous player. If he wins he has a good chance to make the SFs, so hopefully he can pass through his first round test and make a deep run here.

Good luck in France, X-Man!
