I'm dissappointed in both.
Indeed Christophe didn't seem motivated, he gives this impression too often. I'm not sure he could win against Koubek, but he was playing for Belgium, he could at least have tried, or given the impression. I'm wondering if I have ever seen him win a match, I probably have but I can't remember. He is talented and a steady top-100 player, but he doesn't always play like that. I have seen him play live once and he lost 6-0, 6-0
I think Olivier often starts slow in a match, he never gives the impression to have a lot of energy at the beginning of a match. I think his poor first set cost him the match.
I think the reason why Melzer could come back in the second set was because he had won the first set so easy, that gave him the confidence. I think Olivier never should have started the match so bad. I don't understand why they can give such an unmotivated impression.
Olivier did win the third and fourth set, but if you're stuck in a fifth set that's not a good sign, because anything can happen in a fifth set.
I think Olivier could have won in four sets (even if he lost the first), but he should have made the first set tougher for Melzer.
