Thumbs up Belgium winner of the U14 boys winter cup!

this shows belgium has a future in the menstennis!!

the nominated team was :
Frederic De Fays
Jeremy Swyngedouw
Germaine Gigounon

the winter cup is hold with 25 countries of Europe, In the qualify rounds they beat Portugal with 2-1 and GBR with 3-0 , so they could qualify, they were the best of their group (Belgium, Portugal, GBR, France, Slovenia, Netherlands and Austria) the second best was GBR, so those two could play the final with six other countries who could qualify and that were Czech Republic, Russia, Croatia, Belarus, Germany,Italy.
in the final
Belgium beat Italy with 3-0
Belgium beat Belarus with 3-0
Belgium beat czech Republic with 2-0 (doubles isn't played)
congrats boys!
their ETA U14 rankings:
Frederic #3 (played 6 tournaments)
Jeremy #66 (played three tournaments)
Germaine #92 (played three tournaments)
I think Frederic will be the #1 in Europe next week, but I'm not sure, since I'm not that good in counting out rankings!

#1 fave: "Fly" KRISTOF VLIEGEN

Re: Belgium winner of the U14 boys winter cup!

frederic
In the Boys Under 14, fourth-seeded Frederic de Fays of Belgium beat sixth-seeded Dylan Sessagesimi of Switzerland 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in a match lasting an hour and forty minutes. De Fays said he had played Sessagesimi before, so he knew his game. He said he had found the heat very difficult to cope with, but he was very pleased with the way he played. De Fays said he normally played Under-16 in Europe, but he had been determined to qualify for the NJT International Masters. "I was in the Bahamas in 2001 and at Sun City last year, and this was my last opportunity to win the title," he said.
