Marseille

Arnaud plays David Ferrer (#5). He's going to have to do well this tournament to maintain his current ranking.

Re: Marseille

Marrrrrrrrseille! lol
As at any home tournament French players got such a wonderful draw

"Those who are skilful and really the best ones don't have a bad luck [reasons of their falls are in themselves only]." - Ole Einar Bjørndalen, who is not just best of the best; he can do everything.

i've just checked... there's 200 points to defend. that's about where #50 will be next week if he loses in the first round or two.

not that he's unfamiliar with being ranked 50, more so than #35, in recent years but anyway, good luck......

btw i've read that in the doubles arnaud/mika got a walkover and moved to the 2nd round without playing

Re: Marseille

You can watch Arnaud live playing Ferrer right now. He looks really tired.

Re: Marseille

i guess the ranking drop may not hurt as much as losing first round, at home, as defending champion. he was really really proud of winning the title last year.

i guess it's also now official, that his form so far this year is abysmal...

Re: Marseille

Sorry to bring some good news to this paradise of pessimism but Arnaud and Micka have reached Marseille's doubles final They just beat Mahut and his playmate and will face to the first seed couple now. Someone was complaining about his and Micka's doubles form and results, no?

Edit: more news are coming. Arnaud got Gicquel for the first round of Rotterdam. Now that's a bad news because the match promises to be a tough one.

Merci Irina

It makes me smile to see micka still is so good... in double. He decided to stop his (great) team with Santoro because he wanted to focus on his single carrer. As result, his results are bad, and he plays (and wins) lots matches with arnaud !

Alright, and what if I say it like heeeeey the title is in the pocket!!!! Arnaud and Micka won the final defeating Knowles/Nestor 7-5 4-6 10-8

So that is still Marseille and despite anything it's a lucky place for Arnaud. Do hope this doubles title will cheer him up after singles first round loss. And not only him but Micka too - after all his problems.

Anne-Claire, thanks for your updates from Marseille Glad to hear Marco is indeed in a good shape even though it can get Arnaud into some troubles.

talk about ups and downs... congrats arnaud/mika for another title, beating a high quality pair too. they also beat the bryans earlier this year, before mika succumbing to fevers lol

well let's hope that arnaud is happy but not too happy, since he now needs to prepare for a tough match in rotterdam. but there he'll be lucky too, he can count on kezzi to support him!
