Re: News Arnaud

In l'equipe they write he pulled a muscle on his calf. That's what we expected the contracture was too much optmistic A strain of a muscle it's a least 2 months I think they write 4 to 6 weeks but surely just for training. I don't think he will be able to compete again before Miami qualies or the clay season He will likely miss all the french tournaments Montpellier, Quimper, Marseille, Cherbourg where he could have had fun and he goes loses his physical condition with this period of forced rest
He will be ~ 175# after losing Zabreb points and I check the calendar he will not be easy to do a schedule with that He will have time to think the way and when he wants to stop With that bad injury I can clearly see him stop after RG-Wim let's see how he will face that bad news

Re: News Arnaud

Some "good" news on FB today:

"Bonjour à tous !
Les news ne sont pas trop mauvaises dans la mesure ou la déchirure n'est pas si importante qu'on aurait pu le penser au départ. Il n'y a pas d'hématome. Il ne me sera cependant pas possible d'être prêt pour le tournoi de Montpellier mais si la cicatrisation se passe correctement, j'ai espoir de pouvoir reprendre le chemin de la compétition à Quimper. Bon dimanche à tous et merci pour votre soutien et vos nombreux messages !"

The tear is less important than they had thought at the beginning, before the exam. No haematoma. He won't be ready for Montpellier, but he hopes to be ok for Quimper.
Woow, Kezzi, it means he will be in a great shape in Marseille !

"A la base, nous les Français, sommes les champions du monde des râleurs. J'ai l'impression qu'être français, c'est un peu un handicap pour être le meilleur dans ton sport.
Pour faire du sport de haut niveau, d'autres mentalités sont plus propices".

Re: News Arnaud

Quimper is so soon. No hematoma is indeed a very good new like the little tear but I hope he will not come back too soon cos it can be worst then I assume he's doing cryotherapy to do the cicatrisation faster there is one chamber in l'INSEP I think.

Well Quimper looks quite risky imo but Marseille and Cherbourg are still possible quite unexpected. Now let's see

I went to see Le Havre it's a good movie I really like it. Then no trace of Arno The guy in the bar scenes must be an homonym It was curious and Arnaud Clement is a very common name. I also read that the new season of Top Chef starts at the end of january in France but we should have to wait some weeks for the tennis episode.

I was so happy when I read that! It would be so cruel (for him and me) if he couldn't play Marseille. And from now on everything that increases the chance of injury for him is prohibited.

Really? Cause on twitter they seemed convinced it is him. And imdb says it's him, they don't make mistakes very often. I can't wait to go see it for myself.
Oh wow, so we had an exclusive preview in Bercy.

Re: News Arnaud

i hope he isn't pushing himself too much too soon! no more going to a tournament and can't play as he wants, please.

interesting to hear jim courier who's commenting at the aus open, he says it's better to retire at a time one chooses, rather than to have the body tells one to. quite the other way from what arno has been saying.

Re: News Arnaud

I think it's personal, what works for Courier, doesn't have to work for Arnaud.

Re: News Arnaud

he's commenting on the sport and the players in general, not about himself.

I misunderstood that then, but I didn't mean to be defensive. Maybe in general it's better to stop whenever you choose, but for some it might be better to continue as long as they still can. I just think it's a personal decision.
I think Arnaud can decide what is good for him. In general it might be better to keep extra rest, but what if that means he'll miss Marseille and regret that forever? Maybe that hurts him more than his body ever can...
But I can't stand generalizations, so I guess that's why my comment came across as defensive, sorry for that. Whenever I read something like that I immediately imagine the other side, I can't help myself.

Yes but he wants so much playin that's he may come too early. First it will depend of the cicatrisation. It seems he entered Bergamo Challenger http://www.olmesport.it/news.aspx?Ar...s=663&Lang=ITA the week after Quimper but before Marseille.

The goal is to be ready for Open 13 with at least some matches before in Quimper or Bergamo.

Re: News Arnaud

I emailed the assistant director of the movie, because he also did the casting.
It is definitely not 'our' Arnaud in the movie. Too bad, I can imagine an acting career after tennis.

If you go to watch the movie you'll see no way to made a mistake between Arno and the real customers of the bar scene. In France it's rare former athlete who becomes actors in a serious way.

Yesterday Nolwenn was interviewed by Le Parisien and some traces of arno inside that one. She says that despite Arno has some tournaments to play they have time to enjoy Nouméa. They were at the Isles of Pines The journal ask the question of the baby and it seems it's not for now. She doesn't want to program a baby so Arno will not be a father this year I think at least with her

Re: News Arnaud

He seems ready to fall asleep in his chair Wax was in the place nice haircut Pity we don't have pic of his outfit cos the shirt seems classy. I found the video not sure it works abroad http://videos.tf1.fr/nrj-music-award...m-6957981.html If you can goes to 1min25.

Today in l'equipe some words of Julien Jeanpierre as he was the sparring partner of Azarenka in december. He says that the coach of Azarenka was searching a sparring and at that time Arno didn't need him and he even convinced him it would be an interesting experience. In that article it appears that Jeanpierre would still help Arno. Well since he's injured not sure about now but we'll see if he's with him when Arno will be back in french tournaments.
