Re: Grass season 2008

Yes against Roger-Vasselin Even if this one reached the 3rd round of Wimbledon last year. But only one break in each set.

One match on grass in fact and the Queen's next week

The good news of the day : they are in double's final

They won 3-6 / 7-5 / 10-6

Re: Grass season 2008

I am a fan of Arnaud since several years, I met several times and he is very very sympatic, nice and simple as opposed to what certain people think!

I hope that this black period will finish, and he will make a beautiful tournament of the queen' S

sorry for my bad english

Re: Grass season 2008

Double Final is tomorrow afternoon

For the Queen's he's getting Seppi at first round. If he wins his second match on a ATP tournament this year he could get the amazing Gulbis

He'll play double with Seb, first round against Djokovic/Tipsarevic

That's too bad indeed if he loses to guys like ERV Though will see what is going to happen next week.

It's been a long time we haven't seen them together in double
Yes !!!!

Re: Grass season 2008

Arnaud is 86e with classification ATP. He gained 9 places this week and in double he passes in front of Mika Llodra to be the 11th best player of double!

to gain 9 places is good for him and to help to take again confidence!

I think we all know what will happen this week

The match against Seppi is the first match on court 9 and their doubles is the last match on court 1. Have fun for both matches

gained 9 places for going out first round at RG? or for his effort at a 'grass' challenger?

11th in doubles... hope that means he's now 100% going to the olympics.

Re: Grass season 2008

No, that means on the contrary he hasn't qualified and his only chance to go to the Olympics is to get a WC. I've read that everywhere and L'Equipe also confirms it today:
ONZIÈME. Arnaud Clément apparaît aujourd’hui au 11e rang du classement ATP de double. Une place de mieux et il était assuré de pouvoir disputer les Jeux Olympiques avec Michaël Llodra, lui-même 12e. Mais la règle est ainsi : seuls les 10 premiers mondiaux de double ont accès à Pékin, indépendamment de leur classement de simple. Le duo français devra donc compter sur une wild-card pour aller aux Jeux.
If they don't get a WC, the singles players will play doubles for France (which will be a joke since Gilles and Gaël are completely hopeless in doubles - and no offense to his fans, but Paulo isn't that much better). So I guess France will make pressure to get a doubles WC.

i have to trust french media's analysis... but it's so hard to believe. the singles cut-off is so much lower.
