Re: Open de la Baie de Somme

thanks for the news!

so i was absolutely mucked up when i accused him of being lazy as usual he just rather stays at home and plays nearby, i suppose.

is this a challenger tournament then? not bad having two top 50 guys in the final. too bad for those guys who normally earn their living in the circuit.

Re: Open de la Baie de Somme

It seems he played Tsonga in final, and he lost 6/2 6/2.

Thanks, I also thought he was being lazy

And because I also didn't know in which topic my request for Arnaud's book was posted: Thanks Truc!
(Wanted to thank you 'in public' too )

I was already starting to critize him for his stupid idea to play in Evreux, but well, ok, it's for a charity.

(But he doesn't seem to be very motived to leave the country until the end of the year...)

It's not a Challenger, it's part of the "Circuit National des Grands Tournois" (bien pompeux, comme nom...), there are no ATP points to earn there.
There is a little article here too, Arnaud says he went there in preparation for Metz and sounds pretty happy. And the article praises him for being so nice with the fans and taking tons of pics.

arnaud and mika are only #10 in the doubles race... weren't they #6 after wimbledon? doesn't look like they are looking forward to the travelling anyway. what a shame it doesn't mean that much to them.

I thought that if a team wins a grand slam and finishes at least 20th they qualify...

Re: Open de la Baie de Somme

Yep, they are qualified, Mika said after his match today they want to win Metz in doubles as a preparation for Shanghai, which is their big goal for the rest of the season:
"Après pour le double, nous visons la victoire. Il y a peu de tournois en France, donc c'est une excellente occasion de briller devant notre public et aussi une bonne préparation pour Bercy et surtout les Masters de Shangaï, le gros objectif de cette fin de saison."

True, but you can find it by searching through the rulebook
I also did that once, but it was for something else than qualifying for Shanghai.
But it's the same as for men's singles, isn't it?
