Guideline to stay as Paulo fan/supporter:

#1 Make sure you're in a good health condition when you're about to watch Paulo's match or following live SB. Live matches can damage your health further than you originally thought!

#2 If you're watching a live coverage on TV, switch to live SB whenever the match is too tight. Paulo wants you to stay ALIVE after the match. Secret: If you suspect a bad loss, don't watch the end of the match. Just turn it off!

#3 It is advised that you stay out of other part of MTF during the match or after his loss.

#4 In case of a bad loss, find at least one positivity from the match. It might be something as silly as "He's hotter than the last time I saw him!" or "That ugly shirt does look good on him!"

#5 In case of a HORRIBLE loss (eg. losing after a tremendous lead and/or having MP(s))... It is strongly advised that you stay out of any part of the internet world, but here :p GM is prohibited for a few days after the match!!

#7 Recall your Paulo's great memory:
- You may take a look at a tape of his winning matches, for example; vs Canas in Montreal...
- You may read some of a beautiful quotes from Paulo.
- Shirtless pictures (or even shortless picture ) work too

And you'll find a way back from there

#8 Avoid using smileys such as , :crying2:, :sobbing: or anything with tears. Won't make things any better. :awww: is suggested instead of those drama queen smileys.

#9 Recall the (far) worse memories like DC 2002, Coria in Monteal, etc. Just think to yourself, what a journey it has been. Appreciate his effort. What he does is extraordinary. It's important to remember that. You know how easy it is to give up, but he doesn't! How cool is that?!! :p

#10 If he loses a match, blame it on everything you can think of! :haha:
1) His opponent is too good.
2) The freakin' wind/rain :ras:
3) Mismatched clothes  or new shoes?
4) Court surface. (Too fast/too slow)
5) The ball. (Too round?)
6) The coach(es). (Where the heck are they? :p)
7) Simply just isn't his day.
8) God sucks or he's late for work.
9) He has something on his mind. Just isn't there.
10) Pure (bad) luck, this loss.

#11 Think of something positive and POST it. It helps.

#12 Take a break. The sun will come up tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day :)

#13 Enjoy your other favorites' wins as much as possible :yeah: Come back here with a smile.

Things are back to normal... almost :) But I'm about to go  because of all the exams!
How about you?

You're so nice :smooch: Genci :hatoff:
You have the last exam coming up? Good luck. Then you get some Xmas break I suppose. :D
I'm doing OK, should be getting back to work. :( But MTF is too addictive.

Re: " Sunday, 1 December, 2002 "

:bigwave:
I'm more concerned about the confidence issue. If only he can feel more comfortable out there again... I know anything can happen :D

Rotterdam and Zagreb? He can take his gf to Dubai for a hot romantic getaway again :p
I hope I don't jinx him, but he has the worst luck in the beginning of the year :scared: A few (serious) injuries in the AO :bolt: I just hope he makes it through perfectly healthy in 2009!
Well, indeed! I hope, that Courteau might help with this, though it's up to Paulo himself in a whole

Oh, I didn't think about Zagreb   Seems a strange decision to me for some reason
It's time for tennis gods to work off their fee :p 'Cause it's always been a tough luck for Paulo with all those injuries :awww:

Ah, Jai, so your exams are almost over? :D:rocker2: And it's a new semester starts on Tuesday already?

Marshall is freakin' crazy!! :rocker2:
Robin is getting weirder and weirder every episode :rolls:

Barney :worship: The bartender was really lame

I love that scene!!! :awww: Serena... it's so obvious that she belongs with Dan
I really like Blair's stepdad :D

They made it seems like such a BIG secret... I mean, she had an abortion --- so what? :ras:
Marshall is... legendary. :haha:

The bartender and his Toupee :rolls: Barney was :yeah:

I think every scene with CHuck and Blair I almost cried... that episode was too good. I want to watch it again but I have to study for exams... TWO MORE :bigcry: but then it's break

BUT what if... Lily didn't have an abortion and Serena's brother is really Rufus' son

Go vote for Paulo if you haven't already!! He will especially need the help of his regular supporters this round :armed:
Where is this link?

Thanks tufani  What is your real name?? :)

I only voted for Paulo and Gulbis even though I wanted to vote for half the people in there almost :rolls: I didn't know Gulbis was so popular

Re: The Zadig et Voltaire Appreciation Thread

:wavey: I'm Olga :)

Yeah, Gulbis is sooo popular on MTF  I don't get where all this popularity came from, actually  He even beats Marat

Well, I voted for all the Frenchies in previous rounds :rocker2:  And now only for Paulo and Richard

I have the exact same thought about Gulbis  He's too cute for my liking :p

I thought Richard already has so many fans so my vote was only for Paulo. Well, I have to be faithful... our anniversary just passed :haha:

Re: The Zadig et Voltaire Appreciation Thread

 HEY SHARON, Look who I saw/"met" on Friday!!

She's been in the state since Tuesday (I think) and did 4 book signings (one each day Wednesday through Saturday). I guess the reason she came was to do the reading/recording of the CD version of their book. My mom and I went to her book signing on Friday and stood in the freezing cold (with a bit of snow even) for about an hour and a half. They let some people wait inside, but the rest of us were left to suffer :( For the actual signing they moved us through very quickly, which is why I guess it's more appropriate to say that I saw her rather than met her even though she did look up at me before signing my copy of the book, and I said "Hi" and "Thank you" to her :D They didn't allow photos to be taken with her, but they had a photo area for taking pictures of her. Still a cool experience  I find it surprising that she would stay around here for most of the week. I wonder if she has ever been away from the rest of her family for that long all at one time :awww:

 :speakles: *jealous*
I wish I could meet her... I guess Jon probably didn't come so he could take care of the children and not just leave them with various sitters, since I think they mentioned on the show before they would do less traveling.
*still jealous* I wish I knew about this :rolls:

I actually didn't know until Thursday night. My mom had heard about it on one of the "local" news stations during the day on Thursday so the Wednesday one had already happened. My mom didn't catch what they said for the when or where of the Thursday signing and she didn't tell me about it until later that night. The news had mentioned the Saturday one, but we couldn't go to that one because my mom had to work all day. The Friday one wasn't mentioned on the news (the location of that one wasn't as "local"), I just happened to be reading articles about the Wednesday one and it mentioned the city where there would be one on Friday, but it didn't say the exact location or time so I had to do a bit more research ;) According to an article, the signing on Wednesday had at least 1,500 people...the one I went to wasn't nearly that bad. I wasn't around Kate long enough for a proper judgment, but from what I saw she seemed quite friendly. She made a point of looking at people even though everybody was being rushed through and she didn't seem annoyed at all. Maybe it's because chaos has become normal to her  I was all about breaking the rules :haha: When we got there they told us that the line was for both purchasing the book and the signing (you had to buy the book there or have a receipt from having already bought it from that store). They said we couldn't go in and buy it, that we had to wait. There was a guy by the door that wouldn't let you in if you were there for the signing. After awhile I slipped in and bought the books. Other people had done it, and we were afraid that if we had to wait and buy it when we were allowed in, that we would lose our place in line. Later they let people go inside in groups to buy them  Their rules for the signing were no personalization for the signing of the book and no pictures with her. They had the area where you could take a picture after you got your autograph, but you were suppose to take one and then move on. I stayed there for awhile trying to get some decent pictures. Nobody said anything directly to me so I didn't leave. I kind of felt that I deserved it after standing outside freezing for so long  It was really hard to take pictures though because people were constantly walking past the table. A lot of my pictures were of peoples backs. Also my camera was being difficult, I think it was because I keep it in auto mode and it was having a hard time focusing with all of the movement. Oh and another thing....Kate seems smaller in person, thinner than on TV :) About Jon, to me he doesn't seem like the type of person that would want to sit around signing books. I'm curious how this will fit into the show...if they will mention where Kate went and if they will show stuff from the days that Jon was home with the kids

Well, at least we know where Paulo will be (or already is) soon!
The Masters France draw is out! Paulo is in one group with Mika, Arnaud and Adrian

And his schedule (dunno where to post it ) :armed::

Thursday : against Arnaud Clément
Friday : against Adrian Mannarino
Saturday : against Michaël Llodra

I'm so thrilled about the opportunity of seeing him (at last!), even if it turns out to be just a tiny little pic :yippee::lol:

Gosh, they are amazing! :worship:

Re: The Zadig et Voltaire Appreciation Thread

I wish I have a break between each exam... would have been less torturing

Usually about 6-7 subjects per semester  but each subject has both a lecture and a lab part.

Now I'm just glad to see Paulo AWAY from Paris :scared: Dynamites in the Printemps department store :bolt:

I ran out of idea after exam

But there is a huge bright side for you - exams are over in no time! :rocker2: ;)

I see. Well, same here. I have 4 exams to pass this winter, and a bunch of tests

Those explosives are already been defused by police, but still... :scared:

Ah, the Vamos avie is back! :armed:

6-0... that was mean to Arnaud! :ras:

Well, he's concentrating on the business, I suppose  Hope both guys had some fun out there :smooch:
I fell asleep right before the match

I think, Paulo simply didn't want to lose the momentum. When the play is on one tries to finish it off asap. Well, Arnaud was leading 40-15 in the first game of the second set  Dunno what actually happened then.
But the play in the first set was really intense  The score was like 0-30, 15-30 almost on every Paulo's serve. I'm glad he pulled through and didn't let the momentum go. Even though it's just an exhibition event, I'm sure that those little moments will mean a lot for Paulo's confidence in the future.

How come they have no official livestream like in Bucharest? :p

Re: The Zadig et Voltaire Appreciation Thread

Voted for Paulo, don't think he's going to make the next round though. :awww: I find it interesting that I like all the players left in (except for one) so I made a decision to just vote for Paul (and Richie).

As for Paulo's match, I hope he continues to smoke his opponents. :yeah:
