Re: **The Australian Summer: Doha!**

got a pretty decent draw, wawrinka would be tough in the quarters, but i would expect him to win that and play davydenko in the semis

Re: **The Australian Summer: Doha!**

Yeah, he can't complain about the draw. Its not a cake-walk but he should get through to Davy. Wawrinka still has consistentcy issues so Andy may have a bit of luck.

Andy beat Volandri 4-6, 6-3, 6-4

Murray Starts Season with Victory

Murray is seeded to reach the semi-finals in Doha

Britain's Andy Murray had to come from behind to beat Filippo Volandri 4-6 6-2 6-4 in the first round of the Qatar Open hardcourt event in Doha.
Murray started slowly and was unable to hold his serve as the Italian won the last two games to win the first set.

The 19-year-old fourth seed lost the first game in the second but then broke serve twice to level the match.

The Scot saved a break point to take a 4-2 lead in the third set and kept his cool to secure his place in round two.

Murray will face Christophe Rochus in the second round after the Belgian overcame Spain's Alberto Martin

No smooth ride through today, but that was obviously due to rustiness. C.Rochus is never an easy match but Andy should have no problem unless his health deteriorates.

Good win Andy!

Murrays Fight to Win Doubles Game

Andy Murray has been struggling to overcome a cold

Andy and Jamie Murray reached the second round of the doubles at the Qatar Open by beating Marcos Baghdatis and Stanislas Wawrinka in a tie-break.

The brothers fought back after losing the first set to win 4-6 6-1 10-5 under the new Champions tie-break format.

The new tie-break is played instead of the third set to speed matches up, with the winner being the first to 10.

Andy will return to singles action on Wednesday when he plays Belgian Christophe Rochus in round two.

The 19-year-old Scot, who is suffering from a bad cold, beat Italian Filippo Volandri in blustery and cold conditions on Monday.

And the fourth seed is hoping the weather improves on Wednesday.

"The conditions were tough for both of us. It was very cold and a bit of wind too," he said.

"I know coming from Scotland I should be used to such conditions but playing at night under the floodlights made it more difficult."
Andy has a cold?

Re: **The Australian Summer: Doha!**

that was a great win in the doubles. even though neither baghdatis nor wawrinka are doubles specialists, in my mind they are both more talented individuals than the murrays, so it was good to see them come through, although having a champions tiebreak instead of a full third set did help. depending on how far they get, i think will have a bearing on how andy does in the singles, he doesnt want to be getting too tired if he has a possible match against davydenko
