The Tennis Channel Open, Las Vegas

Who thinks Murray will still enter this event. I would advise rest before back to back TMS events in Indian Wells and Miami after his hectic schedule recently!!!!!!!

Robin & Andy are in LOVE! I think he'll play cause now he has a few days rest.

OddJob Good One!!

Tommy Robredo in the past few tournaments have been crashing out in the first few rounds so its a winnable match for sure. (I like Tommy though, )

Re: The Tennis Channel Open, Las Vegas

Tommy is quite a high ranked player, but is seriously out of form. However he has to kick in to form at some point, i just hope it isn't this week against Andy. I wasn't surprised by Andy's performance last week, i actually expected him to lose sooner. Soderling has been on solid form the last few weeks, and it was hoping for too much to expect his third consecutive win.

Having said that, i would like to see him do well this week. The draw has been relatively kind, with an easy second round match if he makes it through. What should quite excite the tennis purist is the possibility of a quarter final match-up between Andy and Gael, who does tend to have quite a defensive style of play. I have a feeling Andy would do well against him, but it would be a match to get excited about. Both are top young talents, although Gael was the one getting most of the plaudits last year really. He seemed to be getting WC'S for almost every tournament when his ranking wasn't high enough, even although most of the time he never did that well. I'd really like to see Andy beat this french kid; it would be good to put a marker down for they will play many times in the future. In fact i expect Andy to be ranked higher than Gael sooner rather than later, whch may be helped by the fact that Gael is none too clever on the dirt whereas Andy should do a little better, although there is much uncertainty over Andy's clay court form, as it is not something we have seen as yet! Just the one DC match which was a disaster on the indoor clay. Anyway all that is getting ahead, let's hope he comes through against Tommy, and then we shall see!

He doesn't need the rest, its early in the season. The more matches and confidence before the masters series the better.

Andy has a great chance tomorrow.. here's hoping.. Robredo I don't think he has any real weapons other than his rugged steel from the back of the court.. if all goes to plan Andy should grind him down. Show him what you are made of!

I am BUOH, warrior of heart and soul.

Re: The Tennis Channel Open, Las Vegas

It was a horrible match from Andy. He just never got any rhythm and played poorly. All do credit to The Pinball Wizard who played well in windy conditions. Andy seemed like he just showed up to lose.
