Andy's US Open Series

Andy kicks off his US Open Series against Granollers in Montreal tomorrow at 12PM local time, should be a fairly comfortable win, but Andy may be a little shaky on his first hard court match since Miami.

Re: Andy's US Open Series

Not sure what to expect for this years US series. Wouldn't be surprised to see Andy stroll around half-asleep for the rest of the series like he did today until the US open when he should step it up.

Re: Andy's US Open Series

At least Andy doing some winning in Doubles is giving him match time on a hard court.

Too bad he and his partner lost in the Final, but they were playing a good Doubles team.

Re: Andy's US Open Series

Cinci QF sounds about right. That would be enough prep for USO. No need to give 100% at Masters tournaments at this stage of his career, when he plans to rack up the slams.

Re: Andy's US Open Series

Seems like his form has returned. I see him getting a semi-final at least here (Berdych could be tricky if he faces him), which is fine and dandy. He'll gain a good amount of points and have plenty of practice. Of course, it'd be great if he could win the title.

ANDY MURRAY

SLAMS: 3 WINS, 8 finals, 9 semi-finals, 7 quarter-finals...
WORLD TOUR FINALS: 3 semi-finals...
MASTERS: 12 WINS, 6 finals, 13 semi-finals, 18 quarter-finals...
OLYMPICS: 2 gold medals, 1 silver...
DAVIS CUP: 2016 champion...
MATCH WIN/LOSS: 602-172...
TITLES: 39 and counting...

Re: Andy's US Open Series

That's unlucky. He played really well against Benneteau, it was a treat to watch.

Re: Andy's US Open Series

I'd like to see him win Cincy. I want him to do more than win grand slams. I want him to be year-end #1.

Americans, Canadians, Brits, Del Potro and whomever else I feel like rooting for (on any given day it might be Federer, Nadal or Djokovic since they are all awesome)

"It’s not just the athletic artistry that compels interest in tennis at the professional level. It’s also what this level requires -- what it’s taken for the one-hundredth-ranked player in the world to get there, what it takes to stay, what it would take to rise even higher against other men who’ve paid the same price number one hundred has paid." -- David Foster Wallace
