Re: Andy's US Open Series

I stopped watching after the first set, apparently that was a good decision.

Sucks but I hope it makes him motivated to end the year on a strong note.
Really? I only saw the first set but it seem like and just sort of play a terrible game to get broken and Stand was just ok, in fact he made a bunch of errors on set points that game. Did it change afterwards?

In the first set Stan played average and I just thought that Murray was having one of his usual first set slumps and would win in 4. But the first set gave Stan lots of confidence and his tennis for the remainder of the match was incredible and the best I've ever seen him play and in Stan's service games Murray couldn't do anything to try and break the closest he came was in the final game were it went to 0-30 but Stan went on the win the next 4 points.

I do hope Murray is more motivated to end the season well and get over the loss, to get ready for what I think will be a very strong 2014 for Murray and he should have points to gain in both the clay season and the US Hard Court season.

The US series was a massive dud. His main goals will be WTF and Aussie. His mind should already be set forward.

Thought I'd look in here and commiserate with Andy's fans: that must have been a hard one to stomach. I only managed to catch the last set of this on the radio, but it sounds as though Stan played some pretty unbelievable tennis.

Andy Murray out of Asia tournaments, maybe the season, in order to have 'minor' back surgery.

Murray wants to resolve problem of last 18 months, very sure he will be back in time for next season. Doubtful for ATPWTF, but possible.
