Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

On the whole I think this new 2nd serve approach bodes well for the future. Just that one match where he hit a bunch of double faults, but lots of times that he's hit quality 2nd serves in big moments. 68% 2nd won today. And while people may say Sleeve is a crap returner, I can remember him punishing Murray's 2nd in previous matches. You'd have to think that he'll become more proficient with this over time, assuming he keeps it up match after match.

Probably gonna get mauled in the final - I think the draining nature of today's match just about settles that, but you never know. Good job done in defending 1,200 points and the #2 spot. Hoping for a miracle, but even if he starts well I won't get excited until three sets are won.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Points defended I guess. Not exactly much else to be happy with about that performance in the final. Least it wasn't anywhere near as gutting as last year.

I'll never watch any AO final he is part of again. My poor forehead took too much abuse this time.

Unless Nole loses early, I can't be arsed with him making the final again. I actually wanted him to tank once Raonic took the third. The rumour he had a flight out on Saturday made me wish it happened even more.

2-7 in slam finals. He's too good and accomplished a player to deserve that kind of stat, but in the warped world of sports you get remembered for it more than you would if you were 2-0.

One can hope Stan's out the top 4 by RG and he can start drawing ND in slam quarters, otherwise we may never see #3.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Novak is 4-2 in slam finals now, all of his wins at the AO.

Wish they could meet somewhere else for a change, Novak is just too comfortable on that court.

That being said, i think Murray zoned out Sunday, in the beginning at least, in fact during much of the tournament. Amazed he made it as far as he did with all those "external" factors.

I read he had flights booked each night, was already packed on Sunday with a plan to leave in the early hours. Judging by the huge grin on his face when he got home, i really think he wasn't focused enough to take on Novak.

It was enough to get him past a somewhat easy draw.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Yeah I wasn't hugely arsed about him making the final, but at the same time did I really want him to lose to Ferrer? Or be the man to let Botnic into his first slam final? Hell no . With Fed's injury looks like Murray will keep #2 for a while at least.
