I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....

so, draw out for Micky Carlo in a sec, realistically hoping for a solid semi and to go from there

With Stan lurking in R3, Andy will be doing well to get past that obstacle.

Anybody noticing that Andy's not only been active on twitter for a start, he's also sharing some good stuff on there?

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Bum-p

So Murray vs Coric. Strange one, playing against a 16 year old up and comer on clay. I think Muzza might just scrape a win by outlasting the lad.

Gotta say Coric looks like an exciting prospect, so hopefully Andy doesn't damage the confidence he's been gaining with his 15 or 16 match winning streak by destroying him.

Prince will be unplayable in 2014. I hope! He's long overdue for an unplayable year.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Heh, I like how you refer to him as Prince.

Prince very rarely plays brilliantly over the course of two tournaments, so it's hard to imagine him doing a Nole 2011. He is up there with Djokovic and Nadal in terms of stamina, but it's only mental stamina that he lags behind in. Wouldn't mind him going all can't touch this on the rest of the tour like Nadal is doing at the moment. Needs to get his head away from his Wimbly success (it must be tough to do though, such was the achievement) and get it in gear on the court.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

I think he will have a Lendl type of career (late bloomer), whereas Nole was the McEnroe (who peaked early). So I could see Prince taking over from 2014 and onwards and end with 6-7 slams. He will definitely stop Rafa at certain slams for sure, and it's amazing how no one is predicting it.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Get well soon Muzza. His comeback after the back surgery should be at Australian open if past players who've had back surgery is anything to go by.

He should take as much time off as possible, I don't mind if his ranking drops, he can make a run for number 1 next season. #Extreme positivity

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

If the back op means he'll feel more comfortable on clay again, then all is good. All the greedy sod in me left is desperate to see him accomplish is to bag #1. He's got the slams, he just needs the top ranking for the final important piece of history. You saw the names who attended the #1's bash in New York the other week. I'd like to see him belong with them.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

While I knew Andy had problems with his back the surgery decision still shocked me. And this doesn't sound very encouraging: What is a discectomy?
It is the removal of herniated disc material that presses on a nerve root or the spinal cord, and is an operation that is usually more effective at treating leg pain than back pain.

Which simply suggests that it may not be what Andy's having after all, no matter what the Telegraph thinks: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ten...k-surgery.html
