Re: Modest Muzza Mania chat - GS winner edition

Me neither. Plus the guy has a rather good record against Andy. Maybe the draw will open up a little. Of course that wouldn't be of any use if he lost his R1 match. Fingers crossed.

You are right scoobs Gael has really done well on his comeback. I would rather have Andy play someone else, but the draw is what it is

Andy does have a bit of a habit of drawing players who are underranked because of injury in first rounds. Tsonga in Australian Open 2008 still rankles. . . I'm sure there have been more, but my memory refuses to help!

They're saying Monfils might have re-injured his knee this week when he lost to Simon.

Aye he did have an injury TO but was able to finish the match - he'll be wary of chucking himself about like he normally does though!

Baptism of fire for our first match of the thread. Andy just can't help but give us some excitement before the tournament has even begun. I expect Monfils to help himself to the first set before Andy gets going.

Could count Davydenko at Wimby this year, though that might be just age related. Pretty sure he drew Baggy in the first round of Tokyo last year and has drawn Nalby in the early rounds of masters a few times.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.

Looks like Andy will have to wait until Tuesday before he can start routining all these mugs.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Tantrum in Tokyo!

Yes, Andy is third on court on Tuesday - maybe about 7am UK time - but his opponent will be lucky loser Ivo Karlovic. Apparently Monfils has withdrawn with a knee injury - again!

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Tantrum in Tokyo!

Probably not an ideal first round match, but Andy should prevail in the end.

Shame about Monfils though, I hope he gets better soon and won't be out for another few months.
