Re: Australian Open - Beat the Heat (and the field)

He's got a qualifier in R1, Gicquel or Bolelli in R2, Nieminen or Melzer R3, Ferrer or Monfils in R4 and in Rafa's quarter http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/...s/ms/r1s4.html

Re: Australian Open - Beat the Heat (and the field)

Murray's potential path to title.

Qualifier
Bolelli/Gicquel
Melzer
Monfils/Ferrer
Nadal
Del Potro/Roddick
Federer/Denko/Djoker

Glad he avoided Cilic,Nando,Gonzo should make QFs Vs Nadal...what a match that could be.

Go Andy!

Re: Australian Open - Beat the Heat (and the field)

Melzer again is gah! Hope not another one like the US Open in 08, more like the Aussie Open in 09 please! (Just not like the Verdasco one in 09 if you don't mind)

As reasonable draw as could be hoped for.

I would have preferred him to land in Djokovic's quarter (or possibly Del Potro who has injury concerns) but at that stage it's highly unlikely any of them would be an easy match anyway.

He could even take his revenge from his loss to Nadal in 2007 and then take his revenge on DelPotro in the semis and then take his revenge on Fed in the final

We can but hope - but I'm not looking that far - I'm looking at who could be the big banana skin in the early rounds that could send him, in that awful cliché, crashing out.

Its possible an inspired Monfils can do it, but his game is like Murray 2.0. Murray can attack better than Monfils and is more consistant off the ground so really this shouldnt happen but if crowd get behind Monfls it is possible, but unlikely I think.

Earlier than that I doubt, there are some tricky players in qualie draw but cmon theres no way he should lose to one of them but I can see him dropping a set if his mind goes wondering, then the 2R/3R look straight forward enough. Meltzer has got game sometimes but the level Murray has shown in 2010 shouldnt really drop more than a set to Meltzer and that will only happen if his brain disappears for a set which it seems to do quite often.

Go Andy!
