I'm slightly on edge but I'm also conscious that Isner is now VERY tired.

I don't think he has much left - I think if Monfils had been able to get that 4th set today Isner would have folded like a cheap tent in the fifth.

So I think Andy needs to play extraordinarily badly to lose. But that is still possible - Andy is still capable of these banana skin performances. But it would have to be a shocker, because Isner on paper has the sort of game that Andy normally gobbles up - big but readable serve that he can return regularly, game based pretty much on power forehand and some volleying. Andy normally makes players like this look very ordinary.

I think there's good reason for optimism here, but Isner should not be underestimated either.

Monfils didn't have a lot of matches under his belt. Andy cannot fall into the Isner trap.

Re: Australian Open - Beat the Heat (and the field)

Im well happy with a late Saturday night, as opposed to sleeping for an hour or 2 wake up for match, get sucked into other matches and being tired for rest of day!

I don't know if it'll please Andy too much though, but I doubt Isner is an early bird either and he's bound to be tired from all his matches this year. Im really looking forward to this It'll be good for Andy to have some pressure in sets he's only had like one 4 all or 5 all situation all tournament.

Go Andy!
