You know, I think this is in fact a great idea, and Muzza may well benefit from this coaching by Alex a lot. I know people have their worries about the two of them fitting together (no pun here, please ) personality-wise, but it might just be what Andy needs to get himself on the way up - a gentleman, taking his time with Muzza and learning him not only how to deal with the dirt, but also, or rather, even more, how to deal with his temper.

Brad Gilbert obviously didn't have the tools to do so (as he's quite a moron himself ), and personally I was quite happy to see Andy getting rid of him. Teaming up with Alex might turn out a lot better!

Looking forward to a GREAT Dirt Season for Muzza!

Very true indeed. Muzza's HC season was absymal - except for defeating Rogi in the first round of Dubai, of course (Rogi: ) - and whatever, moonballing works pretty well on the dirt (ask Rafa). A win is a win, like you say.
Wish Roger would understand this as well...

Re: Clay Court Season Thread

Dubai and Miami have been the worst two tournaments in my life that i can remember following

other than 2002 Wimbledon when Roger went out in rnd 1 and Henman played terrible in every match before Hewitt killed him.

now Clay

It's OK. Muzza says clay is his best surface. But then again he says his serve is his best shot .

I hope he's right. I've never seen him play on clay. Looking forward to the clay season (and glad I couldn't watch the end of Indian Wells or the beginning of Miami. Never happened )

Re: Clay Court Season Thread

Get better Andy . This just means his first clay court title will be AMS Monte Carlo and not Valenica.

Hopefully it's just flu or something. Bad timing, whatever it is.

Re: Clay Court Season Thread

He should beat Lopez and then the winner between Volandri and Mahut (will probably be Volandri as Mahut sucks on clay). Nole, I'm a bit scared about. I think if Andy is confident enough on the surface Nole will be pretty beatable but if he's not, I see Nole taking this. Overall this is not a bad draw. If Andy wins at least 2 matches I will be happy because that's 75 ranking points added.

Re: Clay Court Season Thread

Well i'm worried about Volandri

if he loses to Nole next week

you wont see me in MTF again this year, that will be the final straw for this 2008 tennis season for me
