So it is still possible he plays Seville, but we'll have to wait till the draws are out to see if he's really playing it.

BTW.. I just found an article w/video from Marca. It's not exactly new (12/05/2010), but I hadn't seen it before, and I don't know if you have either.. I thought I could post it here anyway, it's a good interview, and I like to hear him talk even though I only understand some of what he says.

http://www.marca.com/2010/05/12/teni...273653853.html

Would be nice if perhaps someone could translate the main points from the interview, only if you feel like it of course
Thanks for posting! It's a great video

I see, so it's still possible he'll play Seville. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Nice to know he's got some futures coming up either way

Your welcome I really liked the video too. But I only understood a few words. lol. Still, great to see him getting some recognition. He's alreay progressed so much over the last few months, playing better and his ranking has improved too. So I definitely see the potential in Javi and I'm glad that others are finally seeing what I've been seeing as well He's only 18 years old but is already ranked #400 in the world. I think that's pretty amazing!

That would be awesome! You don't have to translate everything word for word, just give us the main points in a summary and I'll be happy

Re: Javier Martí

ok, sorry about my bad english i translate you some sentences which are in the new

"he started playing both tennis and football but finally he had chosen tennis"
"he was given his first racquet when he was two y.o."
"he has played some mayor events, but he is planning to play futures by the moment"
"his dream is winning a gs, specially roland garros or us open.he´d love to win madrid open too"
"out of the courts, javi is a normal guy, he loves his blackberry, tuenti, facebook and msn.play station, ping pong and football(his team is "atletico de madrid")"
his coach, oscar burrieza, known in spain as "burri" says something about him: he has a really natural backhand though his forehand is his best shot, and if he can improve mentally, he will become a great player.he has a great heart and he is a real fighter, though he is young yet...

btw, dont know if you knew about it.marti´s father was a national champion in tennis when he was a child(sub-12 i think), he is working in the FTM(federacion de tenis te madrid), and his sisters play tennis too(they are younger than him).i mean, his family is so involved in tennis

Thanks for translating! BTW, your English is not bad at all. I understood everything you wrote

I am glad he picked tennis over soccer, and he seems like a normal guy off the courts, which is very cute. Not a surprise he wants to do well at the French Open, I guess that is every Spanish player's dream tournament. Us Open was cool to hear about though. Especially since we are in the middle of USO now. I hope to see him making the qualify rounds in a couple of years. Also, I'm glad the backhand comes naturally to him. Even though his forehand is not so good, the forehand is the easiest to improve. Good idea to play futures too, to get higher in the rankings, though is not a bad idea to play a few challengers once in a while either, even though he loses. Match practice against higher ranked players is always good.

Also, it's very cute that his whole family is involved with tennis. But I guess that's how it is down there. Tennis seems to be such a passion in Spain. It's almost a family business! lol. Nadal with his uncle Toni, and Verdasco with his dad. I think it's very cute, and it's exactly this amount of passion that creates some of the best players. I wish we had that here in the cold north, unfortunately we don't..

Anyways, thanks again for translating and feel free to give us updates on Javi if you have any new information

Re: Javier Martí

Thank you for translation Sombrerero loco

My thoughts about Marti are pretty much the same as what Burrieza said, especially "he has a great heart and he is a real fighter" part.

Good luck against Navarro!

did you mean 'que wapo eres diamante del chamartín!!',

omg poor 12 years old girls
