I hope he has a nice run here, I believe he has the chance to win a match or two It's an amazing opportunity even if he loses. Just the experience to play against players ranked higher than him.. I mean, it's good training. Vamos, Javi!

Re: Javier Martí

Too bad he lost in Segovia. I still think it's huge to just compete in the tourney. He got a WC, which is amazing in itself. The experience of training and playing against more difficult opponents is also a good thing. He lost this time, but I'm sure he will reach far in the next tourney. He just needs to keep the momentum going. He's had some amazing couple of months! I just wish he would win a couple of Challenger matches too, but I'm sure he will soon enough. Vamos Javi! Good luck.

I completely agree. And let's not forget he lost to a guy who is almost 200 places above him in the rankings, and still Javi managed to take a set off him, which is great.

He's 4th seed in qualifying draw of Istanbul Challenger http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/226/qs.pdf
I think he has a nice draw, and I good chance to qualify here

Yes, it's amazing to take a set off a guy ranked 200 places above himself! Very good experience to play higher ranked guys too.

Wow, that is great news. It certainly has its advantages to be seeded in the higher end of the scale. A no. 4 seed in Istanbul is amazing, and yes, he definitely has a chance to go far here. I'm glad he's taking the step from Futures to Challengers. It's just amazing to see his progress over the last few months. I'm very proud of him.

Martí qualified in Istanbul

Against Marcel Ilhan in R1 ... tough one, for sure.

Re: Javier Martí

Good luck in MD, Javi!!

He did a great job by qualifying, and playing someone like Ilhan will be a good experience, whatever the result might be.
