Re: Javier Martí

Awesome. With this win, Javi has practically assured a place in RG qualies. I don't think he's gonna qualify for the MD in Paris, but at least he'll be part of a Slam for the first time in his career (he didn't even play a Slam at the junior level!) and that's always a great experience.

Good luck against Bedene!

Re: Javier Martí

Let's not get too much ahead of ourselves, if he breaks top 200 i'll already be a happy camper.

Re: Javier Martí

He said himself that his goal for this season is to enter Top 100, so if he believes it, I believe it, too He entered Top 250 after today's match (#245), and still has a long way to go until he reaches Top 100, but anything might happen.

Re: Javier Martí

No rest for Javi - he's the first seed in the Santos CH qualy draw, and is playing his first match today at 4 PM local time. Section of the draw with Javi:

[1] Javier MARTI (ESP) vs Carlos Eduardo SEVERINO (BRA)
Martin ALUND (ARG) vs Tiago LOPES (BRA)
Gerald MELZER (AUT) vs [WC] Kaue PEREIRA (BRA)
[WC] Pedro ORTEGA (BRA) vs [8] Martin VASSALLO ARGUELLO (ARG)

Good luck!

Re: Javier Martí

Uhm...Javi was leading 6-4 *3-0 and then the scoreboard stuck, and it's been stuck for 45 mins or so. The match is definitely not suspended due to rain or darkness 'cause there's play going on on another court. Weird...

Re: Javier Martí

Finally, the draw is updated, Javi won 6-4 6-0
OOP is out, Javi is playing against Martin Alund NB 12:00 PM, and then, if he wins, plays against Gerald Melzer or Martin Vassallo Arguello. Good luck Javi!
