Cañas has a very serious injury according to La Nacion a very prestigious argentine newspaper http://www.lanacion.com.ar/deportiva...=rankingLeidas

he has tendonitis in his left wrist, he will be out of the tour for many weeks and could have surgery.

Re: News and articles thread

This is so terrible
A serious injury at his age could mean the end of his career, moreover since he had problems with both wrists already.
Let's hope for the best.

Please keep us posted if there is more news

Re: News and articles thread

Exactly what I said a few weeks ago. Stop playing and rest up. Now see what's happened? I can't help but be devastated, but Willy should've used common sense and taken some time off.

Yes, and it's a pity there is nothing to be found on the internet about how he is doing

Yes, even in spanish there is next to nothing about his injury. The latest articles are all from the 10th of January, announcing his withdrawal. But they don't go into much detail.

I had wondered what was going on, but I didn't even find out as much as the rest of you had But I have never heard of needing surgery due to tendonitis. I think there must be something more Usually with tendonitis you just rest and it gets better. The bad thing about tendonitis is it can come back at any time VF I'm really not following you around it just seems that way I think we need a contest on which one of us follows the most tennis players

That's ok, you can follow me around here as much as you like. It's only because you have fantastic taste in players! And I don't know who likes more players, but it's probably me

Not really much news but he is apparently training with Nalby & Mancini for Davis Cup.

Thanks for the picture Snoo Foo

I'm glad to see him with a racket in his hand and no wrist bandage
Let's hope this means good news

Willy had some very serious wrist problems with long recovery periods several times already.
They healed but the intensive tennis training is hard on them.

Re: News and articles thread

Hi Snoo Foo

I didn't realise you were into Canas. As I have mentioned on another thread I'm a bit obsessed at the moment. I'll take him over Hott Sauce. Yes it is nice to see him with a racket in his hand. I hope he can play IW and Miami. To all his argies fans I hope he can play some DC and olympics this year. And sorry for Pico's ankle injury.
