Gasquet won his 1st round vs Mott in 3 set: 6-4 6-4 6-2
He is playing Berlocq in R2, first match on court 2.
His UE stats seems a little bit high for his standards, maybe he was trying to be more agressive.
Btw, I don't understand the way the arrow goes on the last 2 stats, the arrow is supposed to represent the best stat out of the 2 players, and it seems to me that the least distance you run the better.
Quick, easy and brutal. 3 breadsticks in 105 minutes. Only 2 BPs faced, both of which were saved.
Next up Dimitrov. Huge match. As Djokovic just lost, the winner will face Istomin/Carreno Busta for a spot in the QF.
Gasquet has the 5-1 h2h advantage, but Dimitrov won their last meeting. Dimitrov is in great form, and expectedly, is the bookies favourite.
I guess it's between that and having less recovery time for the next round.
The only issue with AO (which runs from morning through night with lights) has been tournament organisation in relation to very long matches on scheduled main courts. If they moved to an empty court would avoid this, but you don't really know how long a scheduled match will last for. Today there was a WTA match that should have ended 6-2 6-2 but became 6-2 6-7(3) 6-3, Serena had a quick one, then they had the Nadal match 4 hour affair that basically delayed the evening match, and another 2.5 hours and it's near midnight. Not much difference on MCA. Just one of those days unfortunately where the scheduling is stretched to the maximum.
Too many h2h's being reversed.
Quite a demolition, judging by the scoreline.
Richard couldn't have asked for a better draw, but now Dimitrov now has an easy path to the SF.
I think I jinxed him. The moment i subscribe this thread, he lost.
Basically every single of my fan I post in the player subforum, they lost :tears:
I saw the match. Richard was very tight on gazillions of BP. And Dimitrov is really exploiting his weaker forehand to get shorter returns from him. Unfortunately the agression was clicking on cue for the Bulgarian, Richard was pushed way to often on the side of the court.
Yes that was a pretty disappointing performance
Grigor was by far the most agressive and it paid.
Too bad, he often don't take advantage of those approachable draws. Also, it's not a good sign to see the following generation surpassing him like that. Hopefully he can have other good runs though and maybe climb back in the ranking.
After a successful Davis Cup week-end for France which easily won against a Nishikori-less Japan 4-1, Richard will play his home tournement in Montpellier where he is the defending champion. He is seeded #3 and benefits from a bye in R1.
Today Richard will play R2 against Victor Estrella Burgos in the last match on the Suzanne Leglen (he played his first on the Chatrier) @Pratik : I wanted to put a vBet on VEB but realized that there were no thread there appart for the RG outright. How is that? No more vBookie volunteers?
^ Yes, we haven't had anyone to make the vMarkets.
I will make sure markets are there from the next round, in case you want to bet on non-Richard markets. Or in case Richard defeats Monfils
He was the better player against Monfils before his Thigh got injured and even when he the injury occurred he was outplaying Gael. It's such a shame he's being hampered by injuries this year.
Sergi said the injury isn't too serious and he needs a week rest therefore that rules him out of the Richoh Open which starts on Monday. Hopefully he will be fit for Halle, if not that then Eastbourne which he's scheduled to play.
