Re: |_|_|_|_| Indoor Season 2006 |_|_|_|_|

Richie won! in France! against another french player!!! this is a great win for Richard, and nice for him to get another title as the season comes to an end. 3 titles on 3 surfaces and his year hasn't even been that great, imagine if he can play well all year!
Hopefully he won't be too tired for Bercy.

Richie

i have kept myself in silence for almost the whole week... i think to learn to watch him fighting for title is really a bit painful while paid off well

nothing better today for his 1st carpet title

Good news: Nadal pulled out of Bercy

Bad news: If Richard wins his second round match, he will face Marat (well-rested this time) in the third round.

Richard

I'm so happy! I couldn't have any better news coming online today. Fabulous, as Richard would say

Let's hope he can continue this winning streak in Bercy and not be too tired

Quote:
"I feel wonderful at this moment because I won the tournament in front of my crowd, my friends, my parents, my coach; it was wonderful for me to win this tournament," said a delighted Gasquet.

"I won three titles before, now this is my first in France so of course I am really really happy.

"I had a lot of confidence before the match because I won against a lot of great players, (Marat) Safin, (Robin) Soderling and (Arnaud) Clement. I know that Marc did not have a lot of experience in finals because it's his first final whereas it's my sixth or seventh, so I knew it was important to get an early break. I think I played a great match today."

Gasquet confessed to not having a game plan coming into the match.

"I wanted to play just my game, to have good shots; a good serve, a good backhand which I knew would be enough to win this match."

Gasquet, having seen the draw at the Paris Masters is looking forward to a re-match with his friend in Bercy.

"Maybe I will have to play Marc another time, I will be happy if I can play against him in Bercy on Wednesday."
Of course, Richard wants to play Marc again

Re: |_|_|_|_| Indoor Season 2006 |_|_|_|_|

I had hoped that Nadal pulling out would somehow cause Safin to be, I don't know, placed in the opposite half of the draw or something, but alas, it isn't to be.

Anyway, congratulations to Richard, he's had such a weird year. First half was pretty much just terrible, second half has been weird with about five good tournaments and maybe another five early round losses, but he's come out winning three titles.

I am a fan of Federer, Gasquet, Baghdatis, the long-deceased Safin, Youzhny, Nalbandian, Rochus, Tsonga, the sadly-departed Santoro, and good, hearty, competitive tennis matches. The quality of my life does not rest solely on who wins these matches. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that I can live quite happily after a player I like chokes, mugs, bashes, or otherwise succumbs to a loss.

I'm so proud of Richard! Way to go! Richard has reached a final in all four surfaces that is so cool! Now get Bercy! I don't care if he wins or not, we all know he is tired and he probably deserves a break. Congrats on the title and the great week!

Safin*Becker*Benneteau*Gonzalez*Golovin

~~~Go Gilles Muller!~~~
IT'S TIME TO TAKE FEDERER DOWN!!!
And my father said "Gicquel? Oh is that him? He's **'s cousin you know"
"What? Oh... wait... They're both called Gicquel.Oh i'm stupid"
So the guy gets tickets to some tournaments etc ^^ It's so cute
