I'm so happy! I couldn't have any better news coming online today. Fabulous, as Richard would say
Let's hope he can continue this winning streak in Bercy and not be too tired
"I feel wonderful at this moment because I won the tournament in front of my crowd, my friends, my parents, my coach; it was wonderful for me to win this tournament," said a delighted Gasquet.
"I won three titles before, now this is my first in France so of course I am really really happy.
"I had a lot of confidence before the match because I won against a lot of great players, (Marat) Safin, (Robin) Soderling and (Arnaud) Clement. I know that Marc did not have a lot of experience in finals because it's his first final whereas it's my sixth or seventh, so I knew it was important to get an early break. I think I played a great match today."
Gasquet confessed to not having a game plan coming into the match.
"I wanted to play just my game, to have good shots; a good serve, a good backhand which I knew would be enough to win this match."
Gasquet, having seen the draw at the Paris Masters is looking forward to a re-match with his friend in Bercy.
"Maybe I will have to play Marc another time, I will be happy if I can play against him in Bercy on Wednesday."
Of course, Richard wants to play Marc again
(oh i've just realized that gicquel's cousin was working with my father and just has known him for over 10 years ... i just thought it was a coincidence they shared the same last name
That's so funny
