Re: ++++++ North American Hardcourt Season 2006 ++++++

I don't think they'll be showing Hewitt-Gasquet on American TV. Good thing is, the USTA has a live stream of it tonight, hurrah.

I am a fan of Federer, Gasquet, Baghdatis, the long-deceased Safin, Youzhny, Nalbandian, Rochus, Tsonga, the sadly-departed Santoro, and good, hearty, competitive tennis matches. The quality of my life does not rest solely on who wins these matches. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that I can live quite happily after a player I like chokes, mugs, bashes, or otherwise succumbs to a loss.

But Richard was just too solid and the backhand too gorgeously good. At one point in the match Richard ran down an overhead from Marco and floated a beautiful lob to steal the game. He also had alot of great looking backhand passing shots.
That's the lob i was speaking about! I was in awe when i saw this... His natural talent is is best friend and at the same time it's worst ennemy. He can be saved by it even unintentionaly in difficult situations but that's part of the reason why he stays so far behind the baseline etc...=> He must always not forget to be agressive and to fight. He's learning being solid. Good. But now he must learn to dominate and dictate the game even when his opponent is playing out of his mind like Chiudi at some points of the match yesterday.

I'm not happy his match will be the highlight of the night session. Hype is not good for him (and a bit unjustified imho). He tends not to respond well to it. That's more pressure for a match that will already be very hard for him. What's more, he's prooved and explained last year in Montréal that he didn't like night sessions. So...

I think it will be shown on USA network. Usopen.org says the match will take place on Ashe stadium @ 7 pm ET/4 pm PT. Hopefully Serena's match won't take too long. Usually I love her but prefer seeing Richie.

Schuettler def. Blake 6-3, 6-7, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4

Hard to get the feminine/masculine and the fact that bon and bonne don't have the same pronunciation at all for an English speaker, huh? I feel your pain.

Those two mp's save were . (The first a return serve and second hitting a winner far from the corner of the baseline) I knew he was talented but . Hopefully he will get his fitness together.

Re: ++++++ North American Hardcourt Season 2006 ++++++

What a match!!!

That's too bad Richard had cramps in the final set and that he was so tight in the 2 first sets, otherwise he could have won the match.
But I'm not disappointed, he showed a lot of heart and that he grew up (not tanked the 5th set despite the cramps).
Congrats Richard!

And my video recorder stopped recording at 6.00 am. I'm so furious I can't watch another time the last set!
