What a match
Richard had set points in the first set then saved two match points in the 2nd. .....Hopefully, Richard can take a lot out of this match for the future.
I was away for a few days and had only yesterday time to watch my tape Richard/Roger. TV coverage stopped after the first two sets, though
Richard should have won the first set. I felt he was more constant and also more creative. Both players mainly played from the baseline, which I considered a pity because both can volley so well.
The second set had more errors from both players, but Richard never looked like being upset after having lost a set he should have won. It was obvious that Roger was committing too many errors, but Richard had the courage to take advantage of this. After having saved matchpoints, a glorious set-point with a drop-shot winner out of nowhere
.I know why I am a Richard-fan, that was gutsy.
Unfortunately coverage stopped then.
