That's a bad habit all the young players have taken it seems...I hope he'll loose this one as he did with the video games one...
It's your job to make him do that, Eric! Act!

Re: ~*~ Hardcourt Season: US Open ~*~

Richard I thought you only get tennis elbow when you play with the wrong technique... Maybe it's the unorthodox backhand.

I think he might be able to win one or two rounds but when he faces big servers like Ljubicic or Roddick, his elbow might not be able to take it...

I don't know. He has a good draw and it would be nice for him to pick up a few points, but not at the expense of his career.

Exactly. I would rather him not play at all then become more seriously injured. I'm really worried about his tennis elbow now. I want Richard to play the Open, but I don't want him to hurt himself more.

He has no points to defend anyway, so there's nothing to lose.

Richard
I totally agree I rather him sit out the USO rather then risking his career for a GS he can do when hes more better! reading the things on the tennis elbow thing it seems quite serious and i wouldnt want him to damage himself even more

missing one GS is not the end of the world but having a career threatining injury is!

Get well Richard

maybe we should sit him down with mardy and say this is what happens when you play a slam you don't need to play when injured

Re: ~*~ Hardcourt Season: US Open ~*~

Sounds like a nice idea....

For some reason, I get the feeling that Richard is going to give it a try at least. From things I've read online and saw I have a feeling he's going to try to play the 1st round, but if its too painful then maybe he will retire. Also, I think his decision might be a last minute one.

tennis elbow is not good
I hope he can get better, that's the most important thing to do now, it doesn't matter if he doesn't play...

Get well Richard

Okay, I've been trying to catch up with everything I've missed this month... I was kind of sad to see that Richard had lost in the second round of both TMS.
I was wondering though -does his injury have something to do with his defeats, or was he injured afterwards ?
And clearly, if there's something wrong with his elbow, he'd better not play the US Open. Poor Richard, hope he gets well quickly

Yeah it has a lot to do with them. He suffers from this beginning of tennis elbow since a long time (officialy declared in wimbledon and even a little before when he said he had massages/ "kinésithérapie" on his right arm...) and it takes a long time to develop so it's there since a long time...and will very likely take a long time to heal as well...(even if it's just a beginning and if he'll be taken care of by very efficient and competent professionals, i assume...).
