Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
Every shot he hit now is a moonball. It bounces so high it can go to outer space. The only reason he doesn't get flack for it like Nadal is because he hit winners so he's not just playing defensively.

I think he sees Safin as the road not taken. If Safin could've ever gotten his mental sh*t together on a consistent basis he might have had Federer's career and Roger might have ended up like Safin. I think he sees him as a kindred spirit.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
I can imagine Gasquet not achieving anything big, maybe winning one MS and then struggle in the rankings. But I can also just as easily imagine him being world number 1 in three years with multiple GS's. I think next year will be make it or break it for him.
Yes I missed the Nadal doubles partnership news, but I did read the crap stuffs about his so-called close relationship with Lagardere.
I was just joking.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
I am very sad Fed lost the final too. The end of first set reminded me bad memories...
But there is no need to compare Djoko with Richard. Richard is like he is. He will never play spartan tennis (which seems to be so trendy on mtf) and that is a good thing.
I trust him to make good performances. He is a player who gets strong with confidence. He has already showed us that he can have good winning streaks.
He is the kind of player who will never be protected from a first round loss but he's not the only one in this case. Fed, Nadal and Djoko are just extraterrestrials imo
Of course I am fed with seeing Richard wasting opportunities and losing matches he is dominating... but things will get better for him with time and experience.
Hey Brittany Good morning. How are you?
I'm glad you understood me. I still don't figure why she did take the meaning of his talent being average and himself being brilliant as the same.
Maybe she enjoys teasing me. At first I didn't quite handle that well, but I'm now getting used to her doing mirkaland thing on GM.
BTW I will do trolling on GM.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
Well that's a given. When Roger plays anywhere near his best, he's impossible to beat. So the times when he got beaten, he played under 70%. But at the same time, Djokovic played smartly and exposed Roger's bh. So credit to him too.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
Yeah but I had never seen Roger's backhand was a disaster like yesterday.
When I wathched the Wimby final, I thought his playing from backhand side couldn't be worse. But turns out it could be worse.
So if he had played with his backhand normally, he could've won even without his best tennis IMO.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
Yeah like I said obviously Roger did not play very well and Djokovic was playing his best tennis so there you go. I mean I'm sure Roger isn't too devastated. He even said it was ''insignificant.'' Let's hope that he doesn't make the same mistake at the US Open.

Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
No. But two people is ''watching'' one of my items.
I'm watching the Monte Carlo match you uploaded and Gasquet played with so much fire back then. It was 5-2 in the second set and Gasquet leading. Federer is serving and at 15-30 Gasquet hit a passing shot and then at 15-40 he whacked a forehand return of Fed's first serve for a winner to seal the set 6-2. Now he is too passive and lacking confidence. I think when you are young you play with heart because you have nothing to lose. But as you get older, you are more passive and less energetic because there is more pressure on you. Like people said Roddick was more fun when he started out.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
Yeah he was really on fire at that time. Seems he was not intimated by the fact that he was playing against Federer. But these days he doesn't seem to have faith in himself he could actually win.
BTW I predicted he would play on Tuesday but when came out the OOP of Monday, realised he would play on Wednesday. Maybe is it because he plays doubles?
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
I want Verdasco because I don't think Gasquet can beat Roddick consistently. And Gasquet did say he doesn't like losing to the same player twice so he'll be prepared.
Re: The Gasket Blowers Chat Thread: Two steps forward, three steps back
Gasquet might beat a tired Fed and Djoke to make it to the finals and beat Roddick to win his first masters title.
