Yeah Tess, I'm the one who registered the French show on a dvd, then went through hell to cut it and convert it and put it on YT  I'm not happy about the result because of the sound, but I can't do better but anyway the sound is not that important in that particular case
Oh no, Vicky! (sorry about mixing up the names, girls) Richie is the very opposite of Mr Ego (I wish he could be a little more "cocky" sometimes, when he's right to be and not go again with his "he's a great playeuuur" and actually say "I was great today" when it's true ) and I didn't hear anyone calling him that on Gilles or Gaël's forums but it's true that I missed a lot of posts there last week and the week before when I was on holidays. But no, I don't feel like people hate him there, it's more indifference imo.
It's the end of the same show (which was 20 minutes long and so moving and beautiful). As Truc said "It's so moving around 2'10: "C'est chaque balle qu'il faut jouer comme ça, Gaël, chaque balle" and Gaël answering "Mais c'était pourri, là..." looking completely lost" http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=FR&hl=fr&v=cN8GmadMUwU
Yeah they obviously do exchange that greeting a lot but I think you're right and Gilles isn't used to doing it in such a public setting  That interview is brilliant! I think Rafa's mistakes in English are what endear me to him. He's SO sweet :inlove: but they DO both speak it better than him  So after the videos we need a slogan that suits ... we have Gasquetaires and Simontards so we need something with Monfils in it that's catchy
And the funniest match commentary I ever heard, on a Monfils/Ouanna vs Bracciali/Ljubicic match in RG. The commentators went completely crazy over Bracciali and I think you can find it funny even if you're not speaking French http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=FR&hl=fr&v=i3s5v8MBjPE
Love the first video ... total gangsta rapper  And he wonders why people have that image of him??? its brilliant though ... just watching second one now
I'm looking for a vid of the AO where he was the shot ot the day.. and he hits a single handed bh dtl and he lets you a big "whoooohoo" after the point:lol: it was really funny... can't seem to find it atm.
Yep, I'm Katie. It's hard to keep track of everyone's names!
The whole of the video with the physio is hilarious!
And I also cannot see how anyone would think Richie is cocky, he is the opposite! He needs a bit more arrogance.
Gaël is definitely an acquired taste. The first time I saw him I plain hated him ! It was at last RG maybe 2nd round (you guys will know) he was playing very badly and had a terrible attitude, dragging himself on the court. And although he was winning (I don't know how he did it) he was still bitching and looked like he wanted to be miles away. He was so much better in the following matches that I started liking him (or disliking him less). But I never thought he was really reliable and trustworthy until the Nadal match in january where it was clear he had changed a lot and straighten up his act.
Also his game can be quite boring at times (not always), with no rythm, maybe that's why people are less drawn to him.
Hmmm ... Barcelona jersey (which is okay) but HENRY on the back ... nope I'm sorry guys I have to quit my job  I'm just kidding. That's a really good video too Marion. What can I pay you in because I'm sure you have all the topless Gillou pics
He can have a bad attitude on the court sometimes but then who doesn't (apart from Federer and Nadal :lol I was impressed with him for not withdrawing in Rotterdam even though he was running off to be sick in both of his matches
I agree Xavier, his matches can be really boring at times. But the fact that I like him so much as a person (well, as far as I know him anyway), makes them more bareable...
 I don't know Eimear, maybe in Spanish lessons
Yeah Gaël used to have an awful attitude on court but he has really stopped that since a year or so and now he's really behaving okay. Yeah his game is not the most entertaining except when he does his crazy shots (but it's getting better lately too, with his enormous forehand, I think he hit the fastest forehand ever hit in the game right ?) But as I always say I don't fall for players with a great game but for players with a great personnality and Gaël is really the kindest and more caring person in the world I wish I could make you listen to some interviews in French or read articles about him.
hi everyone you have all been very talkative while I've been away.
First of all (and I apologise for dragging the conversation away from hot men and back to culture ,) what French literature is a must read? I am also shockingly ignorant about this. I hsve an English degree and for one of the modules we studied European literature but I don't think I read anything French. Also what music is a must. Am trying to broaden my horizons. Plus you can never read enough books.
Now back to men...
I actually think Richie's English is clearer to me than Gael's too. Gael is very softly spoken though. I think out of the 3 of them Gilles is the easiest for me to understand.
Well it really depends what you are looking for... A really complete must read books would count hundreds maybe thousands books Imagine the same question asked to you about english litt...
Proust is considered by many critics (including english and american ones) the most important author of the XXth century. I personnally worship him but you might find it a bit difficult. Otherwise you must have heard of Victor Hugo, Balzac, Flaubert, Stendhal, Zola all the great novelists of XIXth century. Maupassant and Marcel Aymé (among many) for short stories. If you like history novels go for Dumas (The three musketeers ). Theatre : Molière of course, he is our Shakespeare, Marivaux, Claudel, God there are so many... And the poetry : La Fontaine, Musset, Baudelaire, Rimbaud. Or were you asking about today's writers?
Wow, you guys talk a lot Well, I'm sorry, but I just cannot warm up to Monfils. Especially after he beat Zhenya at the USO last year and Andy in Madrid.
I'm happy because I went 3 for 3 in Delray beach quallies, with Evgeny, Dancevic, and Ryan Sweeting getting in.
Hey Tori ... I really enjoyed a book called La Symphonie Pastorale. The Assia Djebar book is also fascinating too but I can't for the life of me remember what its called. I'll do a google search now ... brb
No problem Marion I'll do my best Gael's match against Gilles in the AO was the WEIRDEST match I have ever seen. I know they're good friends but I was expecting them to play a LOT better than that

Oh yeah, I forgot he copied Andy. Let's put it this way, when Le Monf plays Murray, then I'll love him.
