This is the way I love to see Richie play Sadly he doesn't always play like this

Way too easy for Richard today. Ferrer actually struggled a lot this tournament, he is not his usual self, so if Richard will play at good level with some aggressive shots, I think he has decent chance.

Re: Richard In The Australian Summer 2012- Australian Open.

Bravo Richie! More impressive than his razor sharp serve, screaming BH and sizzling FH was that he kept his focus and intensity for 3 complete sets. Even had a bit of a swagger today.

Gonna need A LOT of that swagger against Ferrer.

Good job Richie!

Well played Richard, a winner/UE ration of 33-8 is huge. But what pleased me most: I always had the feeling he could elevate his level even further if need be. And that is something rather special.

Re: Richard In The Australian Summer 2012- Australian Open.

that was one of the best matches I have seen him play in quite a while
focused and the winners/ errors ratio had to be very good
Let' s hope he can keep this up in the next round
Ferrer is tough - but he has not been playing his best tennis this event - if Richard plays like he did tonight , he can beat him

Yeah, I thought the same too. Also, he calmness on the court was such contrast to his moody play vs Istomin and in first round at AO. It looked like he had no doubt whatsoever that he could possibly lose from first point on. His confidence was otherworldly.

So pleased he is doing so well, I watched Ferrer play in November at the O2 stadium in London and my god, he is quick. Richie will need to give it his all to beat him. Allez Richie! X

Congrats Rich!!! Great scoreline. Hopefully, he'll keep this level next round against his "bête noire"

Re: Richard In The Australian Summer 2012- Australian Open.

This result nearly brought tears in my eyes as I was flying during the match, my heart just exploded literally when I saw the outcome. ....Beating a top 10 seed in a GS regardless whether the opponent is playing well or not is simply excellent.....From the stats, his serve speed reached 202 km/h which was surprising because the previous rounds it was hovering around 198km/h AKA he improved his serve by a margin ......He kept his concentration throughout the match and this is the Richard I would like to see in every single match, fighting to the last point...

Is Ferrer injured or something? He has to focus and serve is the key for the match....Good luck, Richard and you really made my day......
