Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

Can't deny Almagro played great at end of TB but it should have never got to that TB.

Going to take a huge mental effort from Richard now but I still believe.

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

I am rarely frustrated watching Richard play, but this was too much.

Maybe he starts playing now, otherwise this will be a well deserved loss.

Richard needs to take the game to Almagro!! Stop just putting the ball in court!!

don't call a drama. Firstly it is not over and secondly he will move on.

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

Almagro out of all players looked like a mental giant compared to Richard. I seriously think Richard is afraid of certain players and Almagro is becoming one of those.

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

It's over

Disappointing from Richard that he couldn't close out the 1st set where he had so many chances to do so. His BP conversation rate in the 1st set was terrible. Really upset with this result, if Richard had won the 1st set, not saying he would of won the match but that was his SET!! He waited for Almagro to make the UE instead of controlling the play.

Onto Cincy, which starts on Sunday, hopefully he isn't too upset and can bounce back straight away. The Draw is also today.

Come on everyone, this maybe is bad result but don't be too angry/upset maybe we should be but we have to put this behind us and I'm certain Richard is going to! ALLLEZ!!

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

One of the worst matches in a long time. No inspiration, passive throughout, did he once try S/V?

Of course Almagro started finding the lines in the 2nd set, but Richard was poor, I wonder what he'll have to say after he sounded so confident before the match.

To make a bad night worse, Roger seems to be losing as well. What a night.

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

PASSIVE, choke play. That certainly wasn't what he meant when he said he "knew how to play Almagro"

Maybe Almagro pisses Richard off as much as he does me. Hate seeing crap play like that but I REALLY REALLY hate that he did it against Almagro! Credit to Almagro who kept the pressure on and stayed calm enough to close it out.

Got some work to do Richard...

He tried to S/V at *5-6 in the 1st set TB but it was a fault.

Almagro took advantage of Richard putting the ball in the middle of the court with his FH!

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

What a match to forget from Richard tonight, consider it forgotten. I saw him step in and hit one aggressive return in the last service game, don't recall any S/V either. Passive and frustrating indeed. Oh well, onwards to Cinci.

Yes, Almagro vs. Tsonga it will be. Disappointing night for me too.
