Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

Monfils has withdrawn from the DC tie vs Spain due to a knee problem!

If Gasquet is fit, I'm sure he will have some part to play in the tie or maybe not because Forget might go with Llodra and Benny for the doubles leaving Tsonga and Simon for the singles.!!

[M.Safin] [T.Henman] [G.Rusedski] [A.Roddick]

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

If he plays Tsonga Simon in singles on clay and Richie is fit he's insane. No pressure cos theres no way they will win anyway.

And what is Roddick doing in there with those guys? Only thing I can think that Roddick has is more, WAAAY more cockiness.

But I'm not a fan of Richard's because he wins or because he is top 10, I'm a fan of his because of his total CLASS and the absolute magical tennis he displays occassionally (and he isn't too bad to look at either ).

With the rain delays in NY a lot can happen, if Tsonga, Simon and Llodra go far at the US Open, more withdrawals can be expected and the same is true for the Spanish guys. Maybe Richard will end up playing Lopez , assuming his ellbow is not too bad.

Those 4 will start preparing for the Spain tie, Richard passed fit then?

Edit: Forget says Richard goes well, for the moment there is not to worry on the subject of his elbow.

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

I hope in will play (and win) double with Julien.
The other possibility is that he'll play friday against Nadal in order to stay Tsonga at rest for saturday the double with Llodra and sunday.

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

Allez Gasquet!! You have to take the game to Rafa, play like how you did in the 1st set at Rome! Nadal says he is tired, let's see what Gasquet does....

[M.Safin] [T.Henman] [G.Rusedski] [A.Roddick]

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

WEll he has nothing to loose and that's when he usually plays a lot better. At least he knows he can't win (maybe not even a game) pushing from a mile behind the base line so hopefully we'll see aggressive Richie.

Probably just Spain throwing smoke screens but talk is that Nadal is worn out, may have foot problems and might not even play Friday. Then Richard gets Ferrer which isn't any better of a match up for him.

Have fun guys!

Good luck indeed. Play free, come to net a ton, serve and volley some, don't just stand behind the baseline and loop... ATTACK second serves! Any short ball, hit hard and come in. Slice and get in some returns. You know, do the stuff, you normally DON'T do in matches.

I am watching. He is playing well when he is down 40-0 or 40-15 on return games, but when it is close score, he is playing passive and so far back... I dont get what he is thinking.

Re: Richard's Time In The Heat- Summer Season 2011

Not good approaches to the net and bad volleying.. really execution is poor so far.. and return of serve.. I mean Nadal just swings serve wide and that's it, Richard is so out of position, he can't do anything..
