There is a reason for that! Ollie was poor, but Richard played well and WITH variation!

He still CAN play like did in 2005 afterall. Only 1 point lost on serve all match. Simply stunning and amazing

Exactly a Variation that is so needed in Tennis today, incredibly hard not to appreciate that.

I am without words but .

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?

I am as happy as all of us, but let's not forget: Ollie was poor. What I liked was the balance between aggressiveness (on bps) and patience, together with the variation, this was good to see. Go on like that, Rich!

What the hell did he put in that cap?

It was great to see him fired up and best of all not letting up when in control. And that serve He showed today all the tools he has - great variety, something I so miss.

Rochus wasn't anywhere near his best but Richie didn't even let him get started. I still think Richie's court positioning could have been better and a better player would have exposed that but for now:

BRAVO Richard

WOW!!! This match reminded me of why I am a fan of his. Everything seemed to be working today...the dropshots, the all-court game, the beauty of that backhand...Rochus looked lost out there. This is the way he is capable of playing all the time, of course we know that. He didn't lose a point on his serve in the first set and only one in the match! BTW, I don't mind the cap. I also have curly hair so I can totally understand why he wears it.

It has a while since Richard beat anyway this badly. It reminded me when he played Olie's brother Chistophe in Hamburg in 05... he just crushed him almost as badly then. Pleasing to see he can still do it.

Richard had all the shots working today. Serve was amazing, got to the net plenty. Basically he hit winners from all over the court and most importantly he never lost a focus for a second during such a one sided match.

Richard opened with a love game, he immediately took his bps in the second game with agressive play, moving forward. He never was in danger on his own serve, after he showed his trade mark BH, he began showing variation, Ollie did not even run after the stops. Rochus served badly and committed errors, but it ws always Richard who forced the game for a second break. An early break in the second set, he hold comfortably with two aces, there was a 214 km/h serve and Rochus' errors became more and more frequent. Richard dropped his first and only point on serve in the middle of the second set, it did not matter, he was 40-0 up.

And oh yes, the cap is back.

much as I hate the cap, if it makes him win I'd buy him one myself.
