Re: Ri-born Richard: Fall 2009 Indoor Season (Kuala Lumpur)

He's just brilliant at net, which is why he needs to go up there more!

But some lovely shots so far

I agree, he hardly ever misses. And he plays the smart smash: position, not power!

That was some sick angle on that backhand to get the second break. Nice placement and so much spin.

Richie completely outclasses him. Nice scoreline, nice forehands finally. Next match will be much tougher.

Yay a win and great serving and the forehand wasn't too bad

But with Joachim it will be different

Clinical. Loving some of those angles.

Good job Richard, will need that serve firing against Pim Pim though, for sure.

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?

Well that was fast. Did I actually see some good forehands? And some crazy angles. His opponent wasn't much of a test but he's been known to screw up matches like that. He actually kept focus for two sets in a row.

Next one will be a different story but glad he had an easy one.

I passively watched the match, but from what I saw, he had some great shots

How do we have to imagine that? Passively watching? With one eye, semi-closed eyes????

I will probably be tired today, but I don't regret watching this match!
Some great points (at the net for example)!

Some faults but in the 2nd set, it was better.

Good luck Richard for the next match!!
