The neck hasn't changed though... I wasn't a 'neck' girl until I became a Richie fan. I love it.

Lovely pics! Thank you so much for sharing, I really like that one where he posed with you and the flag, it's really sweet cause he actually posed you know you didn't pull him off the sidewalk and he doesn't look all dazed and confused .

Re: *** Richy's Photo Corner *** Part 2

I promiosed Tori that I would take some pics of Richie when I was in Basel last week.

I'm afraid I am the world's worst photographer plus I only have a small, cheap camera, and the lighting on the second court was very bad.............. so all in all, the photos really suck

But I promised, - so here are a few from his match against Zeballos in Basel.

Thanks for all the pics!!

The Shanghai pics - he might look a bit thinner but ladies, his hair is "fur shuure" getting thinner. those photos of the back of his head hair a bit sparse at the crown. Head and Shoulders contract won't last long at this rate.

My thoughts exactly! His hair looked mighty thin in one of those pics!

Probably stress.

I wonder if his grandad had/has hair. Don't men get it from their maternal grandfather or is that a myth?

It's a myth.. My dad's maternal grandfather was bald as a cueball at 20. My dad is almost 60 and he still has a full head of brown hair.
That said.. Richie's is definitely getting thinner.

Strangely my hair is kinda like my grandfather's, nothing like my father's.

Re: *** Richy's Photo Corner *** Part 2

male patterned baldness is a genetic trait that is carried on the x chromosome
It is referred to as sex linked in bio text books
It is also recessive - which means it would be masked should a dominant gene by paired with it
So - in other words - it is passed from mother to son - and not from the father at all
( as it is a recessive gene, it is unlikely that the mom would exhibit this trait )
If Richard's maternal grandfather is bald there is a one in four chance that he would be bald , genetically speaking
It is of the same sort of gene as hemophilia and colorblindness ,
His father's hair has nothing to do with it
The one in four nature of genetics also explains why it does not always show up in families where grandpa is bald

Now that your daily bio lesson is over - his hair does appear a bit thin some of those photos

Re: *** Richy's Photo Corner *** Part 2

nope - just - I was a nurse - so I studied this in school years and years ago
seems to be one of the things that stuck with me from bio class

good to know that some of the things crammed into my head in those large lecture halls
actually have come in to be useful

Re: *** Richy's Photo Corner *** Part 2

If Richard's maternal grandfather is bald, that still doesn't mean he has a 25% chance of being bald, as you inherit one chromosome per parent. It becomes a one in four chance if his maternal grandmother is a carrier of the recessive gene as well as his maternal grandfather is bald, so that both of his mothers X chromosomes are then linked with a specific hairloss gene. Only then can Richard inherit the 25% chance. The chances are actually quite low, but when you consider the amount of bald people, not unlikely at all.

Let's not do this
