Pete is playing in a challenger in the Netherlands this week and is seeded 2nd. He was a first round winner 6-4 4-6 6-2 against Vagnozzi, just looking at the rest of his half of the draw it doesn't look like there is anyone there that should definitely beat Pete so perhaps a finals showing is on the cards this week.
If I have worked it out correctly Pete would be around 10 points away from keeping a spot in the top 100 until the end of the US Open if he can win this challenger. I know it is still a long time before that but he needs to gain these points very soon because those results from last year are starting to creep up on him.
Hopefully Pete also puts in a good performance in Bastad next week, in the challenger in Poznan the week after and also Gstaad the week after that. If he at least wins Poznan or the Dutch challenger this week he should keep his spot in the top 100 which is exciting. Come on Pete we have to keep another Aussie in the top 100 and playing ATP reguarly.
There is no point ranting about rankings or making predictions for the future, or even the current tournament he's playing in. Yes it would be great for Pete to have a high enough ranking to play ATP Events, I'm sure he's doing what he can. Give it a rest.
