Because there is no point. If he's winning then then the ranking will take care of itself. Sure, you can argue that it is important to set goals in terms of ranking, but it isn't important updating where he is at if he's moved up 2 positions. And in terms of a single tournament - there is no point in looking deep into the draw when he clearly isn't the strongest player in the draw. Hows the old saying go? "One step at a time".
Too many people in this section of the forum obsess over rankings and what not. Give it a break, we know what he has to do, and I'm sure he does too.
Yes, it's too much. Ooooooooooooh Pete lost a first rounder, he has so lost so many points. Pete will get into the events he wants for the first 6 months of the year, he is just outside in Acapulco, but I think he will make it in there directly.
Definitely he knows what he has to do to maintain his position in the top 100. He has started the season quite well, but he got some rough draws and has to keep playing well when the draws aren't as tough.
