Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Because there is no point. If he's winning then then the ranking will take care of itself. Sure, you can argue that it is important to set goals in terms of ranking, but it isn't important updating where he is at if he's moved up 2 positions. And in terms of a single tournament - there is no point in looking deep into the draw when he clearly isn't the strongest player in the draw. Hows the old saying go? "One step at a time".

Too many people in this section of the forum obsess over rankings and what not. Give it a break, we know what he has to do, and I'm sure he does too.

Agreed. Plus we are talking about 250's tournaments. You don't know what will happen in them.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

we should look into draws, speculating occurs in all sports. ranking is a good reflection of player's performance and enables players to enter different types of touamentsbut but i dont think we should be obsessing about rankings. i dont think that has been happening that much int his forum. i think there's been an overeaction amongst users. There have been only 1 in 20 posts about ranking. i personally dont think its too important. I think what users in this forum are talking about is fine.

Yes, it's too much. Ooooooooooooh Pete lost a first rounder, he has so lost so many points. Pete will get into the events he wants for the first 6 months of the year, he is just outside in Acapulco, but I think he will make it in there directly.

Definitely he knows what he has to do to maintain his position in the top 100. He has started the season quite well, but he got some rough draws and has to keep playing well when the draws aren't as tough.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

i must agree. it seems to be what is said about luczak's ranking rather than how many posts about looch's ranking that is obsessive. thats why.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

It's not that hard really. Pete did well enough to get into these tournaments this year and how did he do that? That's right, he played well and won plenty of matches and built his ranking up. Therefore it's needless speculation, we know what will happen if he gets injured, loses form and not winning matches.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

if ur a fan of soccer, the fifa world rankings are basically unheard of due to inconsistencies between performance and ranking. but there is generally a direct correlation between performance and ranking in tennis. That's why it is spoken of soo much. I dont speak much of it. I think most people would agree I'm not obssessive about rankings, but people are.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Luczak is down 3-4 in the first set, also down a break, so maybe the first set's gone. Plus if he was to win then he will meet Berlocq or Hocevar, Gasquet withdrew. Go Peter Luczak.

Now Pete will drop to 2000 in the rankings.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

exactly who are you making a mockery of... those who mention rankings. gosh i think uve taken this overboard. ohhh dear. rankings are only mentioned once out of 20 posts. now u want that to slim down to one in infinty. okay. i see the logic in that.
