Pete now plays Starace who peaks for Italian speaking challengers in the quarters.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

of course I am. If Pete is in the top 100 its more likely I will see him on TV. Since Lleyton is the only one we have I want these other players to crack top 100, top 150, top 200 and it's interesting to watch how high they go and high low they go espically this year now the points were doubled at the start of the year.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

As has been stated before, it is very simple and Peter is doing it. Funny how playing well and winning means that the ranking is going in the right direction and looking after itself.

So he will be in the top 100 after this week, that is great and all, but he needs to be healthy and complete the year within the top 100. In addition to that, he has to win matches on the main tour and consistently, the stress fracture of the pelvis didn't help last time, even then the jump between the two levels mentally isn't that easy.

He has played a lot recently, and has to get the balance by not playing too many tournaments, though if all goes well, he will be direct entry into the Aus Open and shove it up a few people.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I think the more interesting thing is that Pete could actually be playing the best tennis of his life when he is about to turn 30! Not that I think he will retire soon because he didn't actually start playing tennis professionally for a while but I hope he has at least 3 more years in him because he is a quality player.

Pete is a nice bloke too, and that is why I like him. Great to see his fitness playing off... will be tough to beat Starace here though.

Yes, he is one of the few good guys on the circuit, works very hard and wish him all the success. The fact he has two kids now means he has to earn more, as they aren't cheap, hehe.

Starace is very solid from both sides and also he plays well at this level, his BH dropshots are quality, but one can never tell how it will happen on the day.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Starace lost to Tomic at the start of this year and Pete beat Tomic 2 weeks later in straight sets. Sure it was on Hard but Pete's favorite surface is clay as well. I would be suprised if Pete didn't win this match because Starace chokes pretty hard sometimes.

He will be in the qualies.

Starace is around the $1.40-1.44 mark so it is probably the opposite. He is in much better form than he was at the start of the year as is Pete. Pete is definitely capable of winning but it wont be surprising if he loses.

Makes sense Starace is the clear favourite, he is a true claycourt specialist. He peaks for these challengers. You are totally right.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Learn about match ups, just because Starace lost to Tomic and Luczak beat Tomic, doesn't mean Luczak is going to beat Starace.

Starace is garbage on hardcourts, is it me or you only appear here when Luczak is doing well.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

hehe, I usually vanish from a player's thread/message board when he's doing well... just to make more space and add "value" to bandwagon jumpers...

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Pete winning would be the real upset. As AJ said; Starace peaks for these challengers - he is the outright favourite for a reason.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Pete lost to Starace 6-3 3-6 6-3. The game Starace broke in the 3rd set at 4-3* was hard to watch, as Pete was up 30-0 in that game and didn't make a 1st serve after that, saved 3 break points in the process, but made cheap errors.

Starace served it out comfortably.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
