I get your point, in the end if you have the right results you get'll the ranking you need, get into higher level tournament etc. But as a player it'll defiantely be something you think about a lot, to be able to set goals against ie. breaking into the top 100 or getting his highest ranking. Got to have some way to mark your performance against other players. Hopefully he can keep the form he has been.
I also think he would like to play the main draw at Wimby once so he's played at all four slams, top 100 would be the obivous goal there. It would have to be the reason why he played qualies this year.
There is an end goal and that is to finish the season in the top 100, so once that is achieved, then 2010 can be thought about. Yes, he wants to have one go at Wimbledon before he retires, even though grass is not for him.
No point getting ahead of anything, look what happened with the injury and it can strike at any time.
