4/13 on break points is the story. They won right around the same amount of points, but Ramos won the big ones. Unfortunately when you lack confidence, you aren't going to win big points more often than not.

Good times hopefully will be coming soon for Pete.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Pete is in Alessandria, Italy this week. A bit of a weekend field due to it being on clay in the first week of RG and with some guys already looking toward the grass. Hopefully he can revitalise his year here. If he finds his best tennis, he could take the title. If not, it's tough to see him winning more than one round. We're all behind you Looch

FIRST ROUND

[1] Diego JUNQUEIRA (ARG) vs [Q] Peter POLANSKY (CAN)
Andrej MARTIN (SVK) vs [Q] Evgeny KOROLEV (KAZ)
[WC] Gianluca NASO (ITA) vs Roberto BAUTISTA-AGUT (ESP)
Adrian UNGUR (ROU) vs [6] Rogerio DUTRA DA SILVA (BRA)

[4] Martin FISCHER (AUT) vs [Q] Ivan NAVARRO (ESP)
Facundo BAGNIS (ARG) vs [Q] Jesse WITTEN (USA)
Yuri SCHUKIN (KAZ) vs [Alt] Ruben BEMELMANS (BEL)
Marco CHIUDINELLI (SUI) vs [7] Alessio DI MAURO (ITA)

[5] Paul CAPDEVILLE (CHI) vs [WC] Sergei BUBKA (UKR)
Alex KUZNETSOV (USA) vs Juan Pablo BRZEZICKI (ARG)
[SE] Pablo CARRENO-BUSTA (ESP) vs Konstantin KRAVCHUK (RUS)
Andres MOLTENI (ARG) vs [3] Paolo LORENZI (ITA)

Pete is also playing doubles with Alessandro Motti, they'll take on Junqueira and Molteni tomorrow. Pete's singles match is not scheduled in tomorrows OOP.

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Pete got up 2-6 6-4 6-4 and plays Julio Silva next.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Doing it the hard way good to see.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Nice work by Pete. Freddie Nielsen is a pretty nice QF matchup on clay for Pete and one would think Pete will start the favourite.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Was worried after the first round, but he seems to be fighting his way to form. Hopefully he can take care of Nielsen, who will probably be fresher after two straight set victories. If Pete is fresh enough, I'd agree you'd have to fancy him. Let's go Looch!

EDIT: I see Pete has a day off. Should be fresh as a daisy

Re: The "Peter Luczak" Cheering Thread!

Pete lost 3-6 6-4 6-1. He was doing well until the rain delay, then seemed to lose focus and Freddie played a bit better.

On to Furth now.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Luczak beat Knittel 6-2 6-3 at Furth, he has won this challenger twice.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Good work Pete. Hopefully he will bring a bit of confidence to the court this week knowing he's won it before.
