Re: But Wait There's More - Whittington, Harris, Grills, Mousley and Bourchier

I know Mousley is probably the oldest player in the draw (as his birthday is 2 days after the cut off), but making the Australian Open juniors semi-finals is still a notable achievement. He plays top seed Zverev next.

Yeah - Mousley is travelling well. Hope he can crack the next round into the finals. Zverev is a good player and is playing well, so Good Luck Mousley.

Welp, Mousley tested positive for ecstasy. Faces a ban of 2 years.

Young Mousley sounds like a piece of work. He has previously had funding cuts and wild cards denied after breaking curfews and swearing at umpires. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Re: But Wait There's More - Whittington, Harris, Grills, Mousley and Bourchier

Now for some positive discussion in this thread.

The Tassie boy, Bourchier, who has been battling an abdominal injury most of the European summer is scheduled to represent Aus at the youth Olympics later this month. He was actually training with Nick Kyriogs at Bundoora for a couple of weeks before Nick went to North Amercia. Accompanying him on the boys side will be Marc Polmans.

I believe any decision will be announced on Monday. I'm certain he will get some sort of a ban but hopefully it is no longer than 6 months.

So what happened on Mousley? Or is this another case of secret ?ITF business that the punters never get told about (and in the normal course of events the players claim as injury breaks if they think they can get away with it)?

Re: But Wait There's More - Whittington, Harris, Grills, Mousley and Bourchier

Bourchier took his first match at the youth olympics in 3, dropped the first 7-5 but than went 6-3 6-0 over Conkic of serbia to finish. A good result considering he's missed a lot of action this year with a nasty abdominal injury.

Polmans down a set to start though.

Hate hearing that kind of news, but it should send a message to other players.

BTW, what is the source of your statement VAMOS?

Save for later

AUSTRALIA’S best junior tennis player has been banned from competition for a year after taking an ecstasy tablet at an 18th-birthday party. A tribunal found Bradley Mousley did not intend to cheat when he took the drug two nights before a match but showed “significant indifference’’ towards the sport’s anti-doping code. The ban means that Mousley, a close friend of rising star Nick Kyrgios, is ineligible to play *before May 29.
