Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Gooch, after a good showing in the first round, unfortunately does not get through qualifying, going down to Irishman James McGee 46 36 in the next round.

So then, Chris beats James Ward 7-6 (6) 6-4. Big win for the big man!

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

A pity for Wardy, as big Gooch, where he is ranked at the moment, is always a dangerous floater in any draw at any level. Hope his achilles holds up and he can get through his singles and doubles schedule ok. Good win there.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

R2 Guccione/Groth defeated King/Spir 6-4 7-6(4).

I missed the first three games but saw the rest of the match. I thought Chris played well, missed a few backands that he shouldn't have but you know he's erratic off of that wing. His returning was the usual mix of big returns, big misses and some dinked and bunted returns into awkward positions. His net play was very good.

I wouldn't think so. His injury means he is virtually finished with Singles. He said if the timing was right and injury allowed he might play singles qualifying but essentially he is a full time doubles player.

Oh, ok. That's disappointing, but completely expected & understandable.

Thanks for replying.

Dallas Final: Guccione/Groth def Knowles/Harrison 6-4 6-2

Good start to the year for Chris! Hopefully he can pick up in Memphis where he left off in Dallas and take out Karlovic and Bednarek with Hewitt.
