Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Gooch spotted training at Melbourne Park, where he touched up MM in a two set practise match. Most probably heading to Brisbane for qualifying on the 30th.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Can I just make this clear, Gooch is not going to receive any MD wildcards this Aussie summer. He will most likely receive a wc into Aussie Open qualies, that is all. It's not that worrying though, he will play Burnie CH and Caloundra CH where he should gain some points in February.

Guys the Gooch is 25, he is not young anymore. Marinko is also 25 but he has done exceptionally well to get what he is getting at the moment, Gooch did virtually nothing in 2010 and there is no way you can justify a wildcard to him. If Gooch doesn't get things together over 2011 and 2012 I think he will probably retire at the young age of 27.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Why didnt he enter ao qualies with his protected ranking?? If he could of then stuff him, I hope they don't give him a wildcard.

Looks like just missing out on Brissy MD, 3 spots out....further withdrawals unlikely...

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Good work Gooch. Maybe in the mix for the AO wild card? Especially if he qualies. That will be bad luck for the Mailman...

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

2 great wins on the trot. I was very inpressed with the win over Shwank especially saving a match point. Seems like Guccione is finding form just at the right time. I think he will be in the mix now for sure. No wins at all so far for Carsten Ball in either qualifying event..three sets each one...lots of tie breaks for no wins at all. The selectors will be watching now Ball, Guccione, Tomic and Millman very carefully. Tomic is pretty safe I should think.

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

Wins coming at the right time for Gooch. If he could beat Przysiezny tomorrow it will be hard to not give him an AO wildcard with two wins against top 100 players and then another win against Falla after playing doubles in Brisbane where he and Ball defeated Kubot/Marach.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Re: ---Chris Guccione Cheering Thread---

HAhahaha funny how Guccione seems to come good in Sydney. ahh sigh. Let's keep our hopes up for that really quick cycle of up and down form from him.
